The successful candidate is a well-rounded and experienced professional with a
strong background in consulting within the power industry and familiarity with Singapore's regulatory environment. He or she will lead the Singapore Power and Energy Team in daily operations, provide expertise and support to meet client needs, and spearhead efforts to grow the power business. The successful candidate will also collaborate with WSP's Regional Power Team to drive business development across the region.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop WSP's power and energy capabilities in Singapore to support the growing business, ensuring quality project delivery and client satisfaction. Collaborate with the Regional Director to formulate strategies for expanding the regional power business
  • Has the ability to engage with clients, understand their needs, and translate them into value-adding solutions that align with the company's capabilities and objectives
  • Lead the development and support the preparation of tender proposals for power and energy projects
  • Participate in various project stages, including power plant development, front-end/basic engineering, detailed engineering, and construction
  • Has a clear understanding of how independent power projects are structured and the contractual relationships between key agreements, notably PPAs, EPC contracts, O&M contracts, and Fuel Supply agreements
  • Manage the Team's operations including recruiting, training and developing a team of qualified engineers and project managers, with the ability to make tough decisions regarding non-performers
  • Lead the team by example, taking risks or initiatives that encourage others to push their boundaries
  • Motivate and inspire colleagues and associates, aligning them towards achieving the company's objectives
  • Be flexible in adapting own management style, and willing to challenge and change existing practices in the best interests of the company




  • Master/Bachelor of Engineering degree in an Engineering Discipline from a recognised University
  • A Minimum 20 years of post-graduate experience
  • Demonstrated expertise and industry recognition in delivering sustainable, future-ready solutions to clients, focusing on renewables, energy transition, and their seamless integration into existing systems
  • Experience in thermal power generation projects and technologies would be an advantage
  • Demonstrated track record of motivating and retaining a team of high-quality and talented professionals
  • Strong people development and coaching skills, with a proven ability to bring out the best in teams and a keen interest in developing the competencies and growth of subordinates
  • The ability to communicate ideas to peers and subordinates in a clear and concise manner
  • Articulate with strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) would be preferred
