Responsibilities

  • Support assigned Schools to ensure that the faculty administration and talent acquisition practices are aligned with the SMU's policies and practices.
  • Provide advisory on policies and guidelines related to faculty life cycle matters such as appointment criteria, onboarding and offboarding, terms of appointment and benefits issues.
  • Provide subject matter advise on local employment acts to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate and administer the formalization of all appointments, joint appointments and re-appointments.
  • Coordinate and administer the relocation and onboarding processes for new faculty members.
  • Maintain and perform recruitment data analysis to support recruitment insights shared with various stakeholders.
  • Maintain proper housekeeping of hiring records and onboarding documentation.
  • Managing and maintaining recruitment related SharePoint sites.

Qualifications

  • Degree with at least 5 years of relevant experience in talent acquisition. Prior work experience in institutions of higher learning, particularly in managing faculty life-cycle would be advantageous.
  • Resourceful in seeking solutions. Strong critical thinking skills in identifying effective solutions to resolve issues that may arise.
  • Ability to influence, interact with and engage stakeholders at various levels.
  • Good communication (written and spoken) skills. Familiar with Microsoft Office apps.

Candidates who do not possess the stipulated qualifications but have relevant work experience may still apply. Remuneration and appointment terms shall commensurate with qualifications and experience. SMU reserves the right to modify the appointment terms where necessary.
