Job Summary

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Database Administrator to work on projects within Technology and Operations team in a renowned bank.

Mandatory Skill-set

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field;
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with proficiency in at least 1 Database such as Mysql/MariaDB, PostgreSQL/EDB, Oracle, MSSQL,DB2, MongoDB and Redis;
  • Ability to work in a 24/7 rotational shift environment, including nights, weekends, and holidays;
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to address complex database issues under pressure;
  • Perform database patching and upgrades both manually and using automation tools like Robosys to ensure systems are up-to-date and secure;
  • Utilize basic knowledge of Linux (RedHat), AIX, and Windows operating systems, including basic commands, to manage and troubleshoot database environment;
  • Manage and resolve database incidents, working with the Major Incident Management (MIM) team to address and coordinate high-priority issues;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and document procedures.

Desired Skill-set

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified Database Administrator, Oracle Certified Professional) are a plus;
  • Experience with cloud-based database services (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database).

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure and maintain database systems (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL) ensuring high availability and performance;
  • Continuously monitor database performance and health; identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and optimize queries and database structures;
  • Provide 24/7 support for database-related issues; perform troubleshooting and issue resolution to minimize downtime and service interruptions;
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for database configurations, procedures, and policies;
  • Work closely with development teams, system administrators, and other stakeholders to support application deployments and database-related tasks;
  • Apply patches and updates to database systems as required to address vulnerabilities and improve functionality;
  • Apply Linux (RedHat), AIX, and Windows operating systems, including basic command-line operations;
  • Stay informed on banking industry regulations, standards, and best practices related to database management, security, and compliance.
