The Director, Advertiser Solutions DSPs is responsible for developing key senior relationships and driving revenue with our DSP partners by helping them to fulfil their business needs and optimize their potential for our publishers.

Working out of the Singapore office, the Director of Ad Solutions, DSP will be tasked with engaging contacts at DSPs, challenging their current assumptions, selling in new partnership ideas and increasing investment opportunities on PubMatic. This is a highly visible and strategically important role for PubMatic in APAC. We are looking for an individual whose experience has given him or her a keen understanding of changing DSP behaviour and how that affects media buying strategies. Successfully doing so requires a strategic, collaborative thinker who can bring in other PubMatic executives across the APAC markets and subject-matter experts as needed.

Areas of focus will include strategy definition, assisting local in-market teams to close large DSP partnerships, provide deep internal expertise as a subject matter expert on DSP trends and external evangelization at key events. The role reports into the VP Ad Solutions, APAC.

The candidate should strive to exceed revenue targets through active selling, account management, program implementation and managing terms and expectations for new and existing clients. Candidates should possess strong sales skills and have experience in managing existing clients.

The candidate would be required to effectively communicate at multiple levels from junior to top level executives, both internally and externally. Internally, the role requires close collaboration with the following groups: Technical Operations, Publisher Sales, Publisher Account Management, local and global Ad Solutions team members and the global Product Management teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the APAC leadership team to formulate DSP strategy, define opportunity and achieve business goals
  • Understand regional market needs with a focus on Australia, India, Indonesia, Thailand, Philippines, Singapore & Japan
  • Position PubMatic as the preferred supply source amongst the key DSPs by developing a deep understanding of their buying requirements and priorities to ensure we meet their needs
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to evangelize PubMatic’s offering through appearances at industry events and crafting thought leadership pieces for the trade press
  • Contribute to and execute the global sales strategy across DSPs in APAC
  • Conduct quarterly business reviews and ongoing direct client management and entertainment with the DSPs
  • Work with DSP partners on a regular basis while providing excellent customer service including proactive media packaging of publisher opportunities resulting in higher publisher revenue
  • Facilitating in the roll-out of global/regional SPO deals pertaining to DSPs in APAC markets and ensuring that we are seeing an increase in investments
  • Engage with senior level demand leads across APAC to help define sales strategy with respect to engaging with DSPs

Travel as necessary in support of business objectives (prospect/client meetings, conferences, internal meetings)

Competencies

  • 10+ years of related experience in sales, business development, and/or product within an advertising technology company
  • Deep understanding of the programmatic ecosystem in Australia, India, Indonesia, Thailand, Philippines, Singapore and Japan
  • Growth mindset: willing to take risks, ask questions
  • Solution leadership: able to shape the roadmap of features requested by clients and lead discussion in relationship with our Product Management and R&D team
  • Understand the dynamics of the sell-side, most notably operations of supply side platforms and ad serving tech
  • Clear communicator and service-oriented leader
  • Ability to present effectively to C-level executives and confidently navigate challenges
  • While proficiency in Mandarin is not mandatory, it would be a beneficial addition for this role
