Job Overview:

The Director of Corporate Communications will lead the development and implementation of strategic communication initiatives to build and protect the company’s reputation. This role oversees all internal and external communications, ensuring consistent messaging across all platforms, managing media relations, and driving stakeholder engagement. The director will collaborate closely with senior leadership to align communication strategies with business objectives, supporting our mission of delivering impactful social services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Communications:
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive corporate communication strategy that aligns with company’s vision, mission, and business goals.
  • Oversee the creation of internal and external messaging to ensure consistency and alignment with the company’s brand identity and values.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to the executive leadership team on communication-related matters, including crisis communication and reputation management.
  • Media and Public Relations:
  • Manage relationships with key media outlets, journalists, and influencers to enhance the company’s public image.
  • Lead media outreach efforts, including press releases, media interviews, and corporate announcements.
  • Develop and maintain a media crisis communication plan to respond effectively to potential reputational risks.
  • Internal Communications:
  • Drive internal communication strategies that engage employees, enhance company culture, and support change management efforts.
  • Develop communication tools, such as newsletters, intranet updates, and leadership messages, to keep employees informed about company news and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with HR to ensure alignment between internal communications and employee engagement strategies.
  • Brand Management:
  • Lead initiatives to build and protect the company’s reputation through positive storytelling, thought leadership, and corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs.
  • Monitor and manage public perception of the company across media platforms and industry channels.
  • Oversee brand communications to ensure consistency in tone, voice, and messaging across all external and internal touchpoints.
  • Crisis Communications:
  • Serve as the primary spokesperson and crisis communication lead, managing response strategies during times of public scrutiny or reputational risk.
  • Develop crisis communication plans and train key personnel on effective crisis management communication practices.
  • Content Creation and Messaging:
  • Oversee the development of corporate content, including press releases, speeches, executive presentations, reports, and social media content.
  • Ensure all written and visual communication materials reflect the company's values and resonate with target audiences.
  • Leadership and Team Management:
  • Lead and mentor the Corporate Communications team of four to six members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work culture.
  • Manage budgets, resources, and external vendors to execute communication initiatives effectively and within budget.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent communication across various business units.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.

Key Requirement:

  • 10 to 15+ years of experience of corporate communications ideally overseeing social media, website management, content development, and marketing communications, with proven experience leading teams.
  • Resilient and effective team leader with strong collaborative skills.
  • Exceptional communication, writing, and editing abilities.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with tight deadlines.
  • Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Prior experience in PR or marketing agencies, with in-house marcomms/corporate communications preferred.
