Job Summary:

IT Support Specialist to provide day-to-day IT Support for the Organization's operations. The candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining the organization’s IT infrastructure, providing support for network setup, server configuration, security patching, backup and recovery, and liaising with clients, vendors, and users for technology implementation.

Key Responsibilities

IT Infrastructure Management

  1. Set up, configure, and maintain network infrastructure, servers, and security systems.
  2. Provide support for hardware, software, and network issues.
  3. Regularly apply security patches and updates to maintain a secure IT environment.

User Support

  1. Provide timely IT support to employees and troubleshoot issues related to workstations, printers, and mobile devices.
  2. Assist in setting up user accounts, and workstations.
  3. Maintaining IT guide and documentation.

Security and Compliance

  1. Conduct regular cybersecurity assessments and implement necessary mitigation measures.
  2. Ensure compliance with internal IT policies and procedures in restricted areas.

Backup & Recovery

  1. Monitor and maintain backup systems, ensuring data integrity and availability for recovery.
  2. Perform regular testing of recovery procedures to ensure effectiveness.

Vendor & Client Liaison

  1. Work closely with vendors and clients for the implementation of new systems and services.
  2. Manage external support for technical issues requiring third-party assistance.

Project support

  1. Assist in technology implementation for technology projects such as sensor deployments, IoT installations, and smart technology configurations.
  2. Conduct knowledge transfer to ground teams and collaborate with project managers on IT-related tasks.

Technical Skill Requirements

  1. System Hardening – Securing Windows and Linux Operating Systems by applying patches, disabling unnecessary services, and following best industry practices.
  2. Repairing and Troubleshooting – Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing hardware, software, and network issues, both hands-on and remotely.
  3. Application Installation – Installing, configuring, and maintaining enterprise applications, ensuring proper version control and software dependencies.
  4. Network setup, configuration, and troubleshooting – In-depth understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, VLAN, and experience with configuring routers, firewalls, switches, and etc.
  5. Fortigate – Hands-on experience with Fortigate Firewall for configuring security policies, VPNs, and threat management.
  6. Microsoft Server – Deploying, Configuring, and Managing Windows Server environments, including roles such as Active Directory, DNS, and Group Policy.
  7. Linux – Administering Linux systems (e.g. Ubuntu) including user management, package management, and basic scripting.
  8. Hyper-V or VMware – Creating and managing virtual machines, ensuring high availability, and troubleshooting virtual environments.

Qualifications and Experience

  1. Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, or a related field.
  2. 3+ years of experience in IT Support, network management, or a related role.
  3. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for coordinating with internal teams, clients, and vendors.
