I am currently looking for a Senior IT Manager for one of my Global Medical Devices MNC client. This is a highly strategic role which involves working with internal stakeholders, getting their buy-in and pitching new IT ideas for the organization. This position requires a blend of technical expertise, project management skills, and business acumen to ensure that IT initiatives align with regional business needs.

Scope:

The Senior Manager, IT Business Relationship Management (BRM) acts as a liaison and strategic partner between business team and IT. They work actively to maintain current knowledge around relevant evolving application technologies. This is an active management role that requires strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills to effectively navigate complex business challenges and deliver value-driven IT capabilities. They have strong interpersonal skills, a collaborative spirit, a forward-thinking vision, and an ability to demonstrate executive presence.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions & Accountabilities:

Relationship Management -

  • Act as business Partner’s interface to IT liaison.
  • Understand the regional objectives & priorities challenges & opportunities.
  • Advocate for the region within IT while keeping the global perspective.
  • Assist regions in navigating global IT structure and processes.
  • Gains significant knowledge in subject matters pertaining to both IT and business.
  • Facilitates service review processes within region for overall IT performance and delivery. Partners and collaborates with business and global IT teams on issue resolution.
  • Coordinating “Behind the Scenes” with IT
  • Represent region at global Intake process as well as provides upfront guidance and support for Intake readiness.
  • Educate and coach regional business on technology solutions, overall solution delivery, and compliance to governance processes, architecture standards, etc

Demand / Portfolio Management: Improved outcomes though surfacing, translating, shaping, and monitoring demands and value realization.

  • Highly Focused on Business Area (Strategy & Road Map) assisting and collaborating with business on Demand Generation, Project Ideation, Business Case Creation & Business Case Realization.
  • Lead the annual IS Demand Management process for the region ensuring completeness and accuracy for the requested project portfolio including budget, benefit statement, ROI etc.
  • Accountable for successful demand planning for regions and working with regional business leads on completing project ideation activities including definition and tracking of benefit and value realization. They monitor project performance through its execution and ensure successful project closure activities that also encompass review and assessment of benefit realization.
  • Ensure adherence to annual demand planning process, tools, and timeline.
  • Assess which business objectives can be delivered with a technology component.
  • Establish value management processes – evaluate outcomes and realization of business benefits.
  • Assess the need / benefit of eliminating or delaying projects that do not create immediate value.
  • Find opportunities to bring demand to the surface, help shape the demand, and ensure potential business value is captured.
  • Help align requests with technology. Engage other IT disciplines as needed.
  • Support cross functional and cross region business initiatives and explores IT synergies and efficiencies.

Project and Delivery Management: Deliver solutions and enable capabilities.

  • Ensure / Facilitate/ Monitor delivery of regional priorities.
  • Proactively address issues and bottlenecks to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • Lead product and vendor selection processes for approved initiatives.
  • Provide reports and updates to regional business leadership, highlighting progress, achievements, and any potential issues or risks.
  • Identify and action scope related risks across programs.
  • Assess and monitor risks associated with initiatives within IT impacting regions. Ensure adequate mitigation planning to address impact of risks on project delivery and business.
  • Ensure / Facilitate change management processes to ensure smooth adoption of recent technologies and processes within the organization.
  • Ensure project closure reviews are completed to track success criteria and value achievement.

Strategic Planning:

  • Align a strategic roadmap for IT initiatives with business goals and priorities.
  • Look for opportunities to leverage technology to achieve regional business objectives.
  • Maintain an awareness of current and proposed technology issues and concerns within the business and IT.

SLA: Active role in evaluating service level needs and performance against established agreements.

  • Improve transparency on process and statuses.
  • Collaborate with various IT departments to ensure responsiveness, adequate and timely delivery of services, in line with agreed service levels.
  • Monitor project performance for the delivery of business benefits.
  • Conduct Ticket/ Intake / Incidents review and actions.

Travel Requirements:

Must be able to travel internationally and commercially (approx. 25% travel)

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to build and maintain relationships by engaging business leaders to establish credibility, solve problems, build consensus, and achieve objectives.
  • Blend of technical experience, project management skills, and business acumen. Strong ERP and enterprise application boundary system experience is a plus.
  • Ability to quickly gain significant knowledge in subject matters pertaining to both IT and business.
  • Strong understanding of business processes, operations, and strategic planning.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing IT projects and portfolios in a complex organizational environment from small to of significant size.
  • Ability to work in a matrix environment and navigating through collaboration and influence.
  • Strong understanding of portfolio management principles, practices, and methodologies.
  • Experience with portfolio management tools and software is a plus (e.g., Planview, Microsoft Project, ServiceNow, JIRA).
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum)
  • Knowledge of IT governance frameworks (e.g., ITIL, COBIT) and regulatory compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
  • Proven experience and understanding of the software development life cycle
  • Strong leadership, diplomatic and motivational skills including the ability to lead up, across and down multiple business and technology organizations.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with stakeholders, business process owners and sponsors.
  • Strong influence and negotiating skills

Experience:

  • 8-10 years management experience with at least 5 years Business Relationship and portfolio management experience.
  • 15+ years of IT experience in large or mid-size Global company
  • Proven experience in IT relationship management, project management, and business systems analysis roles.
  • People management of 1-3 employees.
  • Certifications such as Certified Business Relationship Manager (CBRM), Project Management Professional (PMP) are a plus.
  • Healthcare, Life sciences industry experience is a plus.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Business Administration, or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience resulting in a solid understanding of job responsibilities is required.
