Through these three pillars, ISTARI leverages the collective power of its cybersecurity

portfolio, industry experts and proprietary knowledge to work alongside clients on their

journey to becoming digitally resilient.

Key Accountabilities

Cybersecurity advisory delivery: Under the general direction of the client, Regional

Managing Director, Client Partner, and Engagement Lead, deliver key parts of

cybersecurity advisory engagements; co-ordinate across multiple stakeholders,

including ISTARI and project managers from portfolio companies and client teams, as

required.

Subject matter expertise: Provide cybersecurity subject matter expertise and

consulting experience across capabilities e.g. cyber security strategy, risk evaluation,

and more specific domains such as supply chain security, cloud security, enterprise

technology risk, OT security and cyber resilience.

Programme management: Manage programmes to set objectives, scope, timelines

and budget. Produce programme status reports and escalate potential delays or

budget overruns in advance.

Team engagement: Support MDs, Client Partners and Engagement Leads with the

provision of consulting services, including preparation of presentations, proposals,

solutions, contracts and other such client related materials, attending client meetings.

Expected Outcomes

Establish trusted relationships with clients and ISTARI portfolio companies

Deliver target client impact; delight the client with first class delivery of projects

Deliver client engagements within set timelines, within budget and to clients’

satisfaction

Contribute to growing ISTARI’s Advisory practice and help advance ISTARI’s brand

and reputation in the market

Help shape client offerings and contribute towards thought leadership

Work collaboratively with portfolio companies and support their growth

Understand market trends to help the Advisory practice feed insights into the

Investment team

Candidate profile, essential skills and experience:

Cybersecurity strategy design and delivery

Minimum 6-10 years’ relevant experience

Cyber security consulting expertise and delivery of cyber projects

Experience working within complex teams whilst delivering large and complex client

engagements

A self-starter who can thrive in an evolving start-up environment

A good level of resilience, comfortable working with ambiguity and keen to tackle

challenges

Experience and expertise in two or more of the following areas of client success:

  • Managing crisis readiness (ideally along NIST or similar model stages) and

business continuity planning (or BIA project leadership)

  • Managing third-party risk and vendor assessments for risk validation
  • Securing critical digital infrastructure
  • Architecting the cloud for resilience and/or securing the journey to the

cloud

  • Managing enterprise technology risk, cybersecurity resilience and

compliance for complex organisational needs

  • Cyber risk quantification and using value-at-risk to drive project and

programme management budgets

This position would suit a Manager grade consultant.

ISTARI operates in a hybrid working pattern, but due to the nature of client work, travel

may be required for this role.
