Key Responsibilities:
- Formwork Design:
- Develop detailed formwork designs and drawings for concrete structures, ensuring they are efficient and meet project specifications.
- Use computer-aided design (CAD) software to create and modify formwork designs.
- Ensure formwork designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
- Technical Analysis:
- Perform structural analysis and calculations to ensure the formwork can safely support the loads during the construction process.
- Evaluate and select appropriate formwork materials and systems based on project requirements.
- Collaboration and Coordination:

- Coordinate with other engineers and design team members to ensure consistency and accuracy in designs.

- Prepare and maintain detailed documentation, including design calculations, drawings, and technical reports.
- Review and approve formwork drawings and plans submitted by contractors or subcontractors.
- Ensure all documentation is up to date and accessible to relevant stakeholders.
- Quality Control and Safety:
- Conduct site visits to inspect formwork installations, ensuring they adhere to design specifications and safety standards.
- Identify and address any issues or discrepancies in formwork installations.
- Implement quality control procedures to ensure the highest standards are maintained.
- Innovation and Improvement:
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in formwork technology and materials.
- Explore and implement innovative design solutions to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Provide recommendations for improving formwork design practices and processes.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional certification or licensure (e.g., PE, Chartered Engineer) is desirable.
- Experience:
- Proven experience in formwork design, structural engineering, or a related role within the construction industry.
- Experience with CAD software and structural analysis tools.
- Willingness to be trained and use Tekla design software is a bonus
- Skills:
- Proficient in using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Tekla) for creating detailed formwork designs.
- Strong understanding of structural analysis and design principles.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to interpret and apply relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
