JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title Engineering Safety Specialist
Job Purpose and Responsibilities
The Safety Specialist is responsible for implementing, managing, and monitoring safety
programs, policies, and procedures that comply with the company and other applicable
regulations. Evaluates the organization’s procedure, facilities, and equipment by conducting
inspections to identify unsafe conditions and to implement safeguards and solutions.
Collaborate with management and employees to promote safety awareness and initiatives such
that individual takes ownership of his/her safety and those around.
Below are some key responsibilities and requirements for a Safety Specialist:
- Develop and enforce company safety policies to ensure a safe work environment.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments and implement corrective
actions to reduce the potential of incidents from identified hazards
- Assist in the investigation of accidents or incidents to discover their causes and find
solutions
- Prepare and enforce policies to establish a culture of health and safety
- Evaluate practices, procedures, and facilities to assess risk and ensure adherence to
both the law and company guidelines
- Conduct training sessions and presentations for safety matters and accident prevention
- Monitor employees and operations to ensure compliance with policies and laws through
regular inspections
- Recommend solutions for issues, identify opportunities for improvement, and propose
new prevention measures
- Collaborate closely with product factories to enhance and synchronize technical safety
management across different products

JOB DESCRIPTION
Requirements
- A Degree/Diploma in Safety Management or its equivalent
- Prior experience as Safety Specialist with in-depth knowledge of legislation (e.g. WSH)
and procedures is preferred
- Possess excellent communication skills to effectively present and explain safety topics
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Working knowledge of safety management information systems is a plus
- Willingness to travel to various project sites in order to perform job duties
- Show attention to detail and possess a mindset for continuous improvement
- Good interpersonal and time management skills
- A meticulous, organized and resourceful team player
- Handle all matters with confidentiality, sensitivity, and knowledge
