Job Description

Communications Leadership

  • Provide oversight of the brand communications strategy for alumni relations
  • Lead and guide a small team of marketing communications professionals
  • Manage the team budget and expenses to ensure financial prudence and cost effectiveness

Marketing Communications

  • Develop the NUS Alumni brand narrative
  • Set the editorial direction and ensure that content produced is consistent with NUS’ brand voice, style and tone.
  • Responsible for day-to-day operations, including alumni news monitoring, programme and event publicity, and working with the University’s communications office to address media queries.
  • Manage all alumni communications channels, including the NUS Alumni website and other digital channels.
  • Oversee key alumni publications, i.e. including a twice-yearly alumni magazine, monthly e-newsletter, and Alumni Awards booklet and video, among others.
  • Manage all related resources including freelance designers, writers and agencies.
  • Draft speeches for NUS leaders speaking at alumni events, when required.

Qualifications

  • A recognised degree with at least 10 years of relevant experience, preferably in a fast-paced environment, and with a background in higher education.
  • Energetic, resourceful, creative, and self-motivated; someone who enjoys taking on new challenges and thrives in a dynamic and fast-changing environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with experience in managing a small team.
  • Excellent command of English with strong verbal and written communication skills. Fluency in an Asian language would be an asset.
  • Strong project management skills; meticulous and attentive to details.
  • Willing to occasionally work after office hours.
  • Hands on, comfortable working as an independent contributor and/or as part of a team.
