Job Title: SAP Consulting Director

Job Overview:

The SAP Consulting Director is responsible for overseeing and managing the successful delivery of SAP consulting services to clients. This leadership role involves working closely with internal teams, clients, and stakeholders to ensure that SAP implementations, integrations, and enhancements align with the client’s business goals. The position requires a strong combination of SAP technical expertise, consulting skills, team management, and client relationship development.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Leadership and Strategy:

• Lead the SAP consulting practice, including strategic planning, execution, and delivery of SAP projects.

• Develop and execute business strategies to drive growth, including identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.

• Provide leadership to SAP project teams and ensure high-quality service delivery.

2. Client Engagement:

• Establish and maintain strong relationships with key clients to ensure the SAP consulting services meet their business objectives.

• Serve as the primary point of contact for escalated client issues and SAP-related inquiries.

• Work with clients to understand their requirements, translate them into SAP solutions, and provide advice on best practices.

3. Project Management:

• Oversee the delivery of SAP projects, ensuring that they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.

• Manage cross-functional SAP teams to deliver high-quality SAP implementations, upgrades, and optimizations.

• Ensure compliance with project governance frameworks and mitigate risks associated with SAP projects.

4. Team Development and Leadership:

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of SAP consultants and specialists.

• Conduct performance reviews, provide career development guidance, and support the team in achieving their goals.

• Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment.

5. Sales and Business Development:

• Collaborate with the sales team to identify opportunities for new SAP business and drive growth in the SAP practice.

• Participate in pre-sales activities, including responding to RFPs, creating proposals, and presenting SAP solutions to prospective clients.

• Develop and nurture partnerships with SAP and other vendors to enhance service offerings.

6. SAP Expertise:

• Stay up to date with the latest SAP technologies, trends, and best practices.

• Provide guidance on SAP architecture, including S/4HANA migrations, cloud strategies, and SAP module optimizations.

• Act as the subject matter expert (SME) on SAP solutions and provide thought leadership within the organization and to clients.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

1. Experience:

• 10+ years of experience in SAP consulting, including significant experience leading SAP projects or practices.

• Strong understanding of SAP solutions, including S/4HANA, ECC, FICO, MM, SD, HCM, and other modules.

• Proven track record in managing SAP implementations, upgrades, and integrations in a consulting environment.

2. Leadership Skills:

• Experience in managing and mentoring teams, with the ability to lead and inspire consultants and project teams.

• Strong client-facing skills and experience managing executive-level relationships.

3. Project Management:

• Demonstrated experience managing large-scale SAP projects, including planning, execution, and monitoring.

• Proficiency in project management methodologies such as Agile, Waterfall, or Hybrid.

4. Business Development:

• Experience in identifying SAP consulting opportunities, creating proposals, and supporting the sales process.

• Proven ability to drive growth and expand SAP consulting services within an organization.

5. Technical Expertise:

• In-depth knowledge of SAP solutions and architecture, including cloud and on-premises deployments.

• SAP certification (such as SAP S/4HANA, SAP Activate) is preferred.

6. Soft Skills:

• Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to influence, manage conflict, and navigate complex client environments.

• Analytical mindset with the ability to solve complex problems and deliver results.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field.

• MBA or advanced degree is preferred.

• SAP certifications (e.g., SAP S/4HANA, SAP Project Management) are highly desirable.
