[What the role is]

Landfill Management and Operations Department (LMOD) oversees Semakau Landfill which is Singapore’s only landfill for waste disposal.

[What you will be working on]

As a Senior Engineer/Executive Engineer at Semakau Landfill (SL) and Tuas Marine Transfer Station (TMTS), you will:

  • Take charge of the planning, organising, and implementation of a structured operation and maintenance programme of the waste receiving operations at SL and TMTS.

  • Prepare specifications and call tenders/ quotations for the consultancy study and/or construction and refurbishment works of the infrastructure at SL and TMTS.

  • Manage and administer the contracts for the consultancy study and/or construction and refurbishment works at SL and TMTS.

  • Lead Engineering Managers and Senior Engineering Executive to supervise and manage the Consultant and Contractors, and also take charge of the site area being assigned to.

  • Review and manage safety and security of the infrastructure to mitigate potential hazards and threats. This would include review traffic management plans within SL and TMTS.

  • To assist in coordination/ monitoring of NEA or external agencies/parties’ projects or works. Take lead to liaise with relevant parties, authorities and agencies during the course of the work.

  • Perform any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Branch Heads.

[What we are looking for]

The job might be for you if you possess the following qualities,

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical / civil engineering recognised by the Professional Engineer Board.

  • At least 3 years of working experience in consultancy, construction or infrastructure industry.

  • Candidate with project management, procurement and contract management experience is preferred.

  • Possess analytical, problem-solving and leadership skills.

  • Able to work independently and possess good interpersonal skills. Leadership skill to lead a team to carry out work on site.

  • A team play with positive working attitude.

  • Able to work under pressure and cope with tight deadlines.

  • Able to work in a fast-paced and highly volatile environment that would require the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders at the same time.

  • Possess good verbal and written communication skills.

  • Working locations: Semakau Landfill (offshore) or Tuas Marine Transfer Station.
