Purpose and Scope

We are looking for a highly motivated, driven and experienced individual to join our team to provide legal and compliance advisory to the business units located in Singapore and Southeast Asia.

Key Roles and Responsibilities
  • Partner business stakeholder and oversee delivery of legal and compliance services and resources to accomplish corporate goals, strategies, and priorities
  • Provide legal support and advice to senior management and all internal stakeholders on legal and compliance matters
  • Draft, review and negotiate with external counterparts on a variety of commercial agreements common within the energy and utilities industry such as utilities services agreements, power purchase agreements, engineering procurement & construction agreements and, natural gas agreements (for both piped gas and LNG)
  • Prior experience in the energy industry (whether in Singapore, Indonesia, Philippines or Vietnam) would be an added advantage
  • Review and provide recommendations on the legal aspects and considerations for resolving issues that arise in existing commercial relationships, and handling pre-litigation legal disputes and inquiries
  • Lead the implementation and management of Group company policies, procedures and standards related to legal and compliance matters
  • Monitor changes to regulatory requirements and proactively handle regulatory developments and compliance updates
  • Provide time-sensitive support on a wide array of legal and compliance inquiries in all operational aspects
  • Identify and consult on legal and compliance risks in connection with the company’s developments
  • Lead or support other projects and tasks as may be required from time to time

Qualifications & Experience
  • Possess a Law degree with at least 10 years’ post qualification legal experience
  • Experience working in the energy industry, especially for renewable energy e.g. solar and natural gas would be preferred to manage matters independently with minimal supervision
  • Excellent in the knowledge and understanding of corporate law and procedures
  • Admitted to the roll of solicitors of in the UK or the Singapore Bar
