Working Hour: 8.30am to 6pm - Mon to Thurs; 8.30am to 5.30pm - Fri
Location: Botanic Gardens
Specimen Handling:
Organize and file herbarium specimens into storage boxes on compactors.
Use a ladder (13 kg) to access higher storage units.
Perform quality checks on your own work to ensure specimens are accurately filed and well-maintained.
Help with the preservation of specimens by following best practices for storage.
Specimen Mounting:
Mount plant specimens by sewing and arranging them for proper display or storage.
Ensure accurate positioning of plant parts with attention to detail and aesthetics.
Conduct quality checks on mounted specimens to ensure they meet standards.
Requirements:
Strong attention to detail and ability to work methodically.
Basic sewing skills and an eye for layout/composition.
Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
Comfortable using a ladder and handling storage boxes.
An interest in plants or natural history is a plus.
