Job Description

A. Overall Work Objective:

The Research Assistant will contribute to the ongoing research project "Maternal Self- and Other-Referential Processing as a Target for Screening and Intervention (MaSelf)," focusing on the application of machine learning models for mental health screening and intervention. This role involves assisting with data collection, model development, and analysis, contributing to advancements in maternal mental health research.

B. Key Responsibilities & Services/Obligations:

1. Conduct Research and Analysis:
  • Assist in conducting literature reviews and gathering relevant data.
  • Collaborate on the development and testing of machine learning models.
  • Analyze data and provide insights.

2. Data Management:
  • Prepare, clean, and process datasets for machine learning applications.
  • Ensure proper documentation of research data and model results.

3. Collaborative Development:
  • Work closely with the PI and the project team to design and implement experiments.
  • Assist in the development of mental health screening tools and interventions based on the research findings.

4. Reporting & Updates:
  • Participate in online meetings with the Principal Investigator (PI) and team to discuss research progress, share updates, and contribute to problem-solving discussions.
  • Provide regular written or oral updates on research tasks, challenges, and outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Interest in mental health research
  • Basic understanding of machine learning techniques and data analysis.
  • Proficiency in Python or similar programming languages for data science.
  • Strong communication skills for reporting and discussions with the research team.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
