The Visual Analytics team, which is under Consumption & Insights Generation organization, part of the Central Data & Analytics within Chief Technology Office, is responsible for creating a seamless experience for analytics experts to harness the potential of data and interactive analytics through a unified platform across the enterprise – from scientific/clinical to commercial across all locations.

Part of the Visual Analytics team are a group of Platform Engineers who are responsible for managing components that form the company’s enterprise analytics platforms. In this role, you will act as platform engineer for the Visual Analytics platform that serves a diverse group of stakeholders. The role will require the ability to technically engineer the platform and possess hands on working knowledge creating data visualizations as a user of the platform.

You may have a software development background, or an engineering background or you were raised in a modern data analytics culture from the start of your career. You will have the ability to work with technology vendors, support resources, delivery partners, stakeholders, and apply emerging and traditional technologies for analytics improvements in support of enterprise analytics platform strategy.

Primary job responsibilities include:

  • Support architecting, designing, planning, building and operating activities related to Visual Analytics platforms.
  • Coordinate geographically distributed teams in support of platform engineering activities; automation, upgrade and patch coordination, platform administration guidance, monitoring, troubleshooting and performance analysis.
  • As a subject matter expert drive the definition of best practices, platform governance and platform delivery guidelines.
  • Support Visual Analytics technology roadmap and future state capabilities.
  • Write technical documentation including, but not limited to configuration artifacts, infrastructure/technical diagrams, installation qualification and validation documentation.
  • Maintain current industry knowledge of Visual Analytics best practices and procedures.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

We are seeking professionals with the following qualifications, skills and experience:


Education Minimum Requirement:

  • BSc in IT, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.


Required Experience and Skills:

  • 4+ years’ experience with at least 2+ years of demonstrated platform engineering area using Agile methodologies.
  • Experience in building and supporting large scale visual analytics platforms and solutions using modern cloud technologies.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to quickly establish credibility and trust with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with Release Management, Problem and Incident Management, Software Development Life Cycle best practices and project methodologies such as Waterfall and Agile.
  • Confident individual who is organized, able to coordinate teams and activities in a complex international environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to clearly communicate technical and non-technical information verbally and in writing.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to quickly establish credibility and trust with a variety of stakeholders.

Desired Experience and Skills:

  • Familiarity with Spotfire, Qlik Sense, Power BI, Planning Analytics or other Visual Analytics tools
  • Agile and/or Product Management Certifications.
  • Prior experience in Enterprise SaaS product management with successful traction in development, launch and growth of products.
  • Certifications in one or more cloud technologies
  • Prior experience in developing and launching multi-tenant platforms that cater to technical user base
  • Previous experience in Life sciences and Pharma domain.
