Details of the Division and Team:
The Technology, Data, and Innovation (TDI) division is responsible for driving an integrated IT, data, and security agenda across the bank. The function is responsible for implementing the bank’s technology strategy focused on strengthening engineering expertise, introducing an agile delivery model, reducing administrative overheads, de-coupling assets within our IT estate for faster, cost-efficient deployments, as well as modernizing the bank’s IT infrastructure with long-term investments and benefiting from cloud computing.


Within TDI, Investment Banking, Fixed Income Currencies Technology – the Listed Derivatives Execution Production Team are responsible for maintaining application stability across the Futures and Options Trading business.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Core Components include Automation, Stakeholder Management, and Technical Application Support:

  • Maintain the professional working relationships with Front Office Trading, Sales, and Product & Business Partners

  • Perform Start of Week/Day checks, Application Releases, Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity Plan exercises, etc.

  • Identify and track manual work into a book of work, prioritize and build tools to automate them

  • Set up new & maintain existing monitoring environments for proactive overall availability of the trading platform. Proactively take action on the monitoring alerts

  • Identify, investigate, and resolve application/infrastructure issues impacting the business; whilst ensuring communication updates provided at regular intervals

  • Drive improvement on UAT tests, application logging to ensure effective issue identification and problem investigation leading time-to-market bug fixes to be deployed asap

  • Propose strategic follow-ups (incl. opportunities for automation) take place in a bid to reduce repeat occurrences of issues & incident.

  • Drive system capacity and performance management to proactively monitor, analyze and propose / drive changes to meet business demand

  • Develop and build scripts to automate the DR execution and ready-for-business check

  • Keep the key application knowledge, Standard-Operating-Procedures (SOP) into confluence / Sharepoint

  • Active participation in local, regional, and global process improvement initiatives

  • Work closely with Project Managers, Functional Business Analysts, and Developers globally, to remediate issues, introduce new functionality, review costs, and enhance the trading platform

  • Provide specialist technical support for Market Connectivity, FIX for Direct Market Access, Front end Trading & Algo platforms, and Order Management System

  • Engagement in wider Technology forums when possible, ie Engineering Days, Hackathons, Data Science challenges, etc

Your skills and experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant application support experience within the Electronic Trading Application Support domain

  • Strong understanding of Fixed Income Currencies Businesses, in particular the Listed Derivatives Business

  • Strong technical skills ie Linux, SQL, Perl, Python & Shell Scripting, Geneos Monitoring, and Scheduling Tools, etc

  • FIX messaging protocol experience.

  • Familiarity across the ITIL framework in Change, Incident, and Problem Management; as well as awareness of Agile concepts across the Software Development Life Cycle.

  • Critical thinking mindset, excellent problem-solving skills, and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced trading environment.

  • Strong engineering mindset and track record in processes / manual work automation

  • Temperament to work under pressure in a fast-moving production environment.

  • Exceptional verbal and written skills, to communicate effectively with business users, technology peers, and senior management alike.

  • Self-motivated, proactive in nature, and ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively in a global organization.

  • A bachelor’s degree (or higher) in the field of Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics


Role is required to be performed on-site at One Raffles Quay office. Relevant vaccination requirements may apply.
