About FMAS:

The Federation of Merchants’ Associations, Singapore (FMAS) is a non-profit organization that represents and champions the heartland merchants and hawkers in Singapore. We organize various events and programs to ensure our merchants’ and hawkers’ continued participation, learning and improvement. FMAS works very closely with Ministries, Government Agencies and other public and private stakeholders to drive initiatives to develop and improve our heartlands.

The objectives of FMAS are to:

  1. Inject vibrancy into town and neighbourhood centres;
  2. Unite businesses in the community;
  3. Uplift and upscale the productivity and competitiveness of our heartland merchants and hawkers

About the Role:

Passionate about heartland work where we aim to upgrade our heartland precincts as well as our heartland merchants and hawkers? FMAS is now looking for positive and passionate team players to take up the role of Assistant Project Manager / Project Manager whose key focus with be to drive Marketing, Communications and Branding of FMAS and its projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement marketing programmes and branding strategies to sustain and enhance the progression of FMAS and its members.
  2. Strategize, develop and execute marketing and branding plans across all FMAS’ projects & initiatives.
  3. Manage online information, website, social-media marketing and provide content for newsletters and other initiatives
  4. Develop social media plan for FMAS and craft regular social media posts
  5. Project manage contracted social media management services by our members under FMAS’ Shared Secretariat Services
  6. Develop social media plan for FMAS members on contracted social media management services and craft regular social media posts.
  7. Create digital marketing assets for members who are subscribed to digital marketing services
  8. Determine and define project scope and objectives of the contracted services
  9. Plot resources needed to reach objectives and manage resources in an effective and efficient manner
  10. Prepare budget based on scope of work and resource requirements
  11. Track project costs in order to meet budget
  12. Develop and manage a detailed project schedule and work plan
  13. Provide project updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress
  14. Manage contracts with vendors and suppliers by assigning tasks and communicating expected deliverables
  15. Utilize industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout entire project execution
  16. Monitor progress and make adjustments as needed
  17. Measure project performance to identify areas for improvement

Other Scope of Works

  1. Drive precinct upgrading projects and oversee planning and implementation
  2. Drive business development, further marketing and out-reach activities for FMAS
  3. Contribute to membership growth and fund-raising activities
  4. All other assignments delegated by the management committee, Executive Director/Assistant Executive Director

Requirements:

  1. Positive attitude and passionate about heartlands work
  2. Mature and responsible attitude with excellent analytical skills
  3. Ability to work independently as well as an excellent team player
  4. Experienced in Marketing, Communications & Branding
  5. Familiar & experienced with digital marketing, social media management and possess skills to use Canva
  6. Knowledge with project budgeting (P&L)
  7. Experience in trade association work will be an added advantage
  8. Good verbal and written communication skills
  9. Ability to implement strategies to product desired outcomes
  10. Ability to work independently, drive and inspire
  11. Disciplined with project schedules and deadlines
