We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Tax Accountant to join our Retail team. You will be responsible for managing tax compliance for the Al-Futtaim Group entities in Southeast Asia (“SEA”), supporting the SEA Tax Manager, providing full support for the Tax Record to Report processes. You will also play a crucial role in working closely with the SEA Tax Manager along with businesses, service providers, and other tax professionals in carrying out its responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Tax Compliance: Provide support to ensure correct and timely filing of Tax Returns and prepare/review Direct/Indirect Tax Returns, with support from Business Finance and external Tax Advisors

Tax Accounting: Provide support in recording necessary tax journal entries, tax provision tracking, tax balances on general ledger, computing tax liabilities

Tax Documentation: Assist in maintenance of all documents on a central database and provide support to handle requests for information, and to maintain adequate tax documentation tax audit purpose

Tax Audit Support: Assist in preparation of responses to queries from Tax Authorities under the direction of Group Tax and in close collaboration with Business Finance teams

Tax Reporting: Prepare various tax schedules for internal tax reporting as per management requests

Automation: Provide support with tax related system issues in close coordination with IT. Assist in automation initiatives.

You should have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Tax, Finance or Accounting, or a related field
  • At least 3 - 5 years of Direct and Indirect Tax Experience
  • Tax technical skills and tax accounting
  • Accounting and ERP knowledge (preferably SAP)
  • Ability to work on various on-going projects with good organisational and time management skills
  • Possesses good pro-active attitude and is a team player
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Eager to learn and contribute
  • Fluent in English (written and verbal)
  • Singaporean tax knowledge is essential
