About the role

This position sits within the Regional Debt Markets team which is responsible for the origination, structuring and execution of leveraged finance and bond transactions including:-

  • Mergers & Acquisitions
  • Privatization of listed companies
  • Pre-IPO financing
  • Bridge financing for corporate exercises
  • Management Buy-Outs (“MBO”) / Leveraged Buy-Outs (“LBO”)
  • Funding for capital distribution / dividend recapitalization
  • Funding private equity / sponsor financing
  • Rated/ unrated / credit-wrapped bond issuances including bonds in sustainable format, the latter in collaboration with the Sustainable Finance team

As this is a hybrid Leveraged Finance / DCM role, you will be required to participate in both Leveraged Finance and DCM workstreams.

As an intern, you will take on diverse responsibilities, including but not limited to:

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to selected sections of credit proposals e.g. market and industry overview, historical financial analyses, modelling / sensitisation analyses etc.
  • Assist in the preparation of pitches and other relevant materials for potential transactions.
  • Prepare regular market updates for existing and potential clients.
  • Perform market, company and sector analysis using Bloomberg, Capital IQ, Mergermarket and other data platforms.
  • Participate under guidance in internal onboarding and credit workstreams including KYC processes, internal credit proposals to credit committee leading towards loan drawdown / bond issuance.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate in Accountancy, Banking / Finance disciplines, ideally finishing your 2nd year or beginning of 3rd year of your degree. Other degrees may be considered with relevant work experience
  • Prior internships in investment banking, investment or related credit experience strongly beneficial.
  • Sound understanding of financial modelling, pitch creation, credit and financial statement analysis.
  • Ability to extract and present data through Bloomberg, Mergermarket and Capital IQ to support pitches and research.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills coupled with willingness to tackle steep learning curves.
