Facultative Reinsurance Claims Technician

We will count on you to:

  • Manage claims for assigned geography/clients - log and process client claim notifications within strict time frame and inform the markets of those losses

  • Perform duties to support client base. This includes transactional processing, follow-ups in securing reinsurance recoveries, collateral, and timely and accurate system entry of all assigned client activity

  • Ensure assigned tasks are actioned accurately and in a timely manner ensuring Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are adhered to

  • Promote, build, and maintain relationships with Brokers, Clients and Markets

  • Utilize system tools to manage all transactions, ad-hoc reporting, payment of funds and management and transactional processes in an efficient and compliant manner

  • Ensure thorough checking of all contract placement for the risk (co-insurers, retro covers, policy cover, T&Cs) and seeking more information from the Client as necessary

  • Review and respond to queries from markets on active losses

  • Verify the cash calls against reports and supporting documents, get markets agreement and process on system to generate and send out invoices to markets

  • Actively follow up on payments based on monthly reports shared by finance

  • Review claims statistics during renewals and outstanding claims statistics sent by markets

  • Promote new process improvement ideas leveraging technology solutions

What you need to have:

  • Prior experience working in a technical role within the reinsurance industry as a claims technician

  • Successful management of workload, with ability to manage expectations of clients and brokers

  • Ability to engage, influence and negotiate with clients, market contacts and colleagues in a professional manner

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
