NIE invites suitable applications for the position of Assistant Manager/Manager, Outreach, Publicity and Planning in the Office of Graduate Studies & Professional Learning (GPL).

Responsibilities:

Events Management

  • Plan, coordinate and provide support for local and overseas outreach events and activities aimed at raising awareness of the public about NIE’s graduate programmes and professional development pathways.

  • Draft event proposals and engage with vendors.

  • Liaise with event venue provider, manageF&B and all technical needs, e.g. audio visual.

  • Coordinate event logistics, including registration and attendee tracking, presentation and materials support, pre- and post-event evaluations.

  • Plan and monitor administrative and logistics work to meet the event timeline.

Content Management System (for corporate website)

  • Communicate with and understand the requirements of stakeholders.

  • Ensure website contents are updated in a timely manner when required (i.e. programme details, news/events, corporate information).

Stock Management

  • Maintain the database and physical stock of all corporate giveaways, including design and procurement of corporate giveaways.

EDM & Email Marketing

  • Curate, collate and maintain the GPL’s mailing lists for publicity purposes.

  • Perform general marketing activities including putting up electronic direct mail (EDM) using design software.

Publicity and Branding

  • Support the conceptualisation and execution of paid media including but not limited to online display ads, social media platforms, and search engines.

  • Design and produce campaign materials including but not limited to Out-of-home advertising, social media advertising, eDMs, brochures, print advertisings and digital advertisements.

  • Manage the preparatory work to curate and feature faculty and students in local and overseas publications, advertorials, social media platforms etc.

  • Ensure consistent branding and messaging in all presentations and collaterals.

Others

  • Prepare job specifications to request for and evaluate quotations.

  • Assist to prepare reports to provide regular updates on the team’s progress.

  • Work closely with appointment holders and administrative colleagues in GPL.

  • Other duties and projects as assigned by the Reporting Officer.

Requirements:

  • A University degree, preferably in Design, Marketing, or Communications.

  • Candidate with 2 to 3 years of relevant working experience in the education industry is preferred.

  • Has strong interest in marketing, including but not limited to event marketing, content marketing, digital marketing, and traditional marketing to promote graduate programmes, professional development (PD) and continuing education & training (CET) courses.

  • May be required to travel overseas and/or work on weekends.

  • Has good command of the English language, both written and spoken.

  • Is a motivated self-starter who can work with a team, as well as independently, under tight deadlines.

  • Has good interpersonal, communication, writing and organisational skills.

  • Is creative and has the ability to bring in fresh ideas and perspectives in areas related to branding and publicity.

  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel & PowerPoint is a must.

  • Ability to use design tools and apps such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and/or InDesign, MailChimp as well as photography is a plus.
