Job Description

  • Provide comprehensive support for shore-based infrastructure, applications, and end users.
  • Provide infrastructure support for a network consisting of switches, firewalls and maintain the reliability of the network and systems infrastructure.
  • Monitor backup server and enterprise backup system to ensure the recovery of user data and email systems.
  • Set-up and maintain IT equipment in Auditorium, Boardroom and other meeting spaces as required.
  • Coordinate with vendors for the procurement and servicing of IT equipment.
  • Manage company domain name and public IP addresses.
  • Administer Active Directory, DNS, DHCP and MS O365.
  • Assist in server monitoring, configuration, installation, and setup user sccount / security administration.
  • Provide multi-level support and convey resolutions for issues pertaining to software, hardware, printers, e-mail, network and telecommunication.
  • Configure IT profiles and equipment.
  • Provide expert knowledge on Microsoft Office and other Windows applications to resolve issues.
  • Analyze, monitor, and resolve application and system failures and provide general analysis and operational support.
  • Carry out scheduled and emergency maintenance of managed systems to ensure that the production platform runs at optimal capacity.
  • Initiate installations of application software and updates.
  • Resolve application and system failures.
  • Facilitate end-user communication and computing for ships at sea.
  • Collaborate with ship personnel and make visits to ships as required.
  • Engage with third-party vendors and Telco providers for infrastructure maintenance and ship communications.
  • Extend support to colleagues in other regions as the company expands.
  • Update IT and user inventory / data and produce monthly reports.
  • Understand the potential cyber vulnerabilities in computer-based systems and technical procedure and protection measures to ensure availability and integrity of systems and data.

Requirements

  • Minimum Diploma holder in relevant discipline with minimum 3 years of experience.
  • Must have strong computer hardware and software proficiency.
  • Experience in maritime sector and operations, and strong familiarity with navigational aids and maritime communication systems.
  • Able to troubleshoot and problem solve.
  • Good communication skills, team player & able to work in challenging ICT environment.
  • Able to travel overseas and board vessels and perform duties on ships in shipyard & anchorage.
  • May need to work on weekends and public holidays.
  • Candidate with maritime industry experience will be an added advantage.
