We are seeking a dynamic individual for the role of Content Specialist. The role will report to the Manager, Content & Campaigns. The individual will be responsible for creating, developing, and executing content strategies. The specialist will be responsible for developing content for various channels, including website, social media, blog, email marketing, and other digital marketing channels; always ensuring that our content is on-brand, engaging, and relevant to the target audience.

At the core, this role contributes to our vision of ending plastic waste leakage into the environment, growing our credibility and influence with stakeholders that matter, specifically governments, civil society organisations and think tanks.

Roles & responsibilities

  • Write, edit, and proofread website copy, blog posts, newsletters, and social media content.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure content is on-brand, relevant, engaging and factually accurate.
  • Conduct research and analysis on industry trends and target audience needs to inform content development.
  • Manage content calendars and ensure content is published on schedule.
  • Optimise content for search engines and incorporate SEO best practices.
  • Monitor and analyse the performance of content and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Collaborate with agencies, graphic designers, videographers, and other creative teams to develop multimedia content.
  • Stay up-to-date with content marketing trends and best practices and provide recommendations for improvements to content strategies.

Core competencies & Qualities

  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Information gathering and interpreting: The ability to take on board and understand reams of new information is a critical skill required. The executive must keep abreast of ever-changing developments in the external environment.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience developing content for digital marketing channels, including website, social media, email marketing, and blogs.
  • Knowledge of SEO best practices and the ability to optimise content for search engines.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to measure the effectiveness of content marketing programs.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain brand consistency across all channels.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.

Professional Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
  • 3 years of experience in content development, content marketing, or a related field – ideally in sustainability.
