Details of the Division and Team:

The GEM business is looking for a seasoned professional to partner with the heads of the GEM Asia business across Trading, coverage and infrastructure, to develop and drive strategy as well as build a sustainable franchise. This includes 14 on-shore locations in as well as product distribution capabilities in CEEMEA and LatAm.

In this role, you will build and leverage strong relationships with infrastructure partners, regional management, the business, and business management and control functions to enable key initiatives and ensure the business operates within its risk appetite, including its operational constraints.

You will work in EM markets across asset classes (primarily FX, Rates, Derivatives) and play a key role in driving and delivering front to back solutions. Experience in or knowledge of regulatory advocacy and engagement as well as legal entity governance is helpful.

In addition to this, the role has regional oversight responsibilities for the FIC Macro platform in Asia which includes supervision of staff in key on-shore markets as well as Singapore, primarily focused on the GEM and GFX businesses.

The role will report functionally to the COO for Global Emerging Markets, Global Foreign Exchange, Listed Derivatives and FIC APAC Macro, based in Singapore.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Support the Head of GEM Asia and Asia Macro with relevant global and regional business partners across sales and structuring in developing and executing the business strategy, including supporting processes to set and align revenue targets across functional groups and track progress.
  • Support business heads with communication to staff and upwards to DB management which may include regular performance and resource updates, as well as commercial and competitive insights
  • Form strategic partnerships with infrastructure functions to develop and execute infrastructure plans that support the business strategy and improve efficiency, whilst ensuring that the business maintains a safe and sound operating environment within its capabilities and risk appetite as transformation progresses. You will ensure resources and forums are in place to ensure accountability for delivery. You may be required to lead and drive these yourself.
  • You will ensure strong business governance, rigorous cost and investment discipline; own and manage the direct cost base ensuring the business is within its targets or any variance is agreed with management.
  • You will ensure general Business Management and Administration support is in place
  • You will manage a regional team covering multiple locations and businesses.


Your skills and experience:

  • 10-15 years of experience in a business manager / COO / change / transformation delivering complex / innovative business solutions front to back with a broad variety of stakeholders, supporting an emerging markets
  • Knowledge of Emerging Markets multi asset class product offerings and an understanding of typical emerging market regulatory and control considerations
  • Ability to organize and manage a large, diverse and dynamic book of work across a team in multiple locations
  • Experience of people management, hiring and development preferred.
  • Ability to deliver cross-functional solutions under pressure whilst maintaining strong interpersonal relationships across cultures.
  • Strong control mindset
  • Self-starter, numerate, commercial and with strong verbal and written communication, organization and stakeholder management skills
  • Competent analysing data sets in Excel, good Powerpoint skills.


Role is required to be performed on-site at One Raffles Quay office. Relevant vaccination requirements may apply.
