You will lead a multidisciplinary team of data scientists, health services researchers, and clinicians to develop innovative solutions that address pressing healthcare challenges. You will be responsible for driving research, designing data models, and applying advanced analytics to improve health outcomes, patient experiences, and system efficiencies. The role requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and a passion for translating complex data into actionable insights.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, execution, and dissemination of health services research projects aimed at improving healthcare delivery and outcomes.
  • Develop and implement advanced data models and machine learning algorithms to solve complex healthcare problems.
  • Collaborate with clinicians, administrators, and other stakeholders to identify key research questions and data needs.
  • Oversee the analysis of large healthcare datasets, including electronic medical records (EMR), claims data, and patient-reported outcomes.
  • Guide the development of predictive models, risk stratification tools, and decision support systems.
  • Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at conferences to contribute to the body of knowledge in health services research.
  • Mentor and support junior data scientists and research staff to foster a culture of innovation and continuous learning.
  • Ensure compliance with ethical standards, data governance policies, and regulatory requirements in healthcare research.
  • Collaborate with external partners, such as universities, research institutes, and industry stakeholders, to advance research initiatives.

Job Requirements:

  • PhD or Master’s degree in Data Science, Health Services Research, Biostatistics, Public Health, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a data science or health services research role, with a focus on healthcare.
  • Strong expertise in statistical analysis, machine learning, and data visualization tools (e.g., Python, R, SQL, SAS).
  • Experience with healthcare data, including EHRs, administrative claims, and population health data.
  • Proven track record of leading successful data science projects and publishing in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Knowledge of health economics, outcomes research, and healthcare policy is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to translate complex findings to non-technical audiences.
  • Experience managing and mentoring teams in a research or healthcare setting.

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with artificial intelligence (AI) applications in healthcare.
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).
