POSITION SUMMARY

As part of Menarini Silicon Biosystems (MSB) Team, The AMAP Scientific and Application Specialist will be the primary scientific & technical person for MSB Commercial Team and customer base within a specified geographic region.

This role will interface directly with key opinion leaders (KOL’s) and clients, helping to manage scientific collaborations with the goal of effective commercialization of new assays and applications. In addition, this role will be the technical face of the organization at conferences, on scientific panels, and in technical writing.

This role will also have to work closely as a partner with the sales team, facilitating and supporting sales presentations, giving seminars, demonstrating company product lines, managing marketing collaterals and participating in trade shows.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide scientific support to customers pre-sales and after sales.
  • Conduct operator training for end users after installation of instruments
  • Solve application product problems promptly and completely
  • Conduct product technical training for Sales / Engineers/Distributors
  • Maintain/update products information promptly
  • Visit client regularly and promotes reagent for value-based management
  • Pay periodic visits to Key Accounts for getting user feedbacks on our products and services
  • Work closely with Service Engineer and Sales team in order to support sales effort, including pre-sales promotion
  • Coordinate instrument installation with Service Engineer and Sales
  • Coordinate customer evaluation of products
  • Assist customers in the interpretation of test results, planning experiments or design of programs
  • Assist in yearly budgeting exercise and prepares monthly report
  • Deliver scientific presentation to key customers
  • Prepare country-specific marketing materials
  • Support the academic and market events, develop and maintain with speakers
  • Other task assigned by line manager
  • Conduct business in full compliance to Behavior in Business and Behavior in Competition

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor Degree in Science/Biological Sciences; or Advanced Degree in Cell Biology/ Molecular Biology
  • Experience in Cancer Biology/ Oncology and Molecular Diagnostics
  • At least 5 years of experience in medical diagnostics, pharmaceutical, and/or the laboratory services field, including direct experience interacting with KOLs in the oncology field
  • Experience in pre- and post-sales and training is a plus
  • Strong communicator with ability to maintain open communication with internal employees, managers and customers as needed
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Strong analytical skills and familiarity with medical messaging
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, including flexibility around schedule and function
  • Able to anticipate and diffuse critical/potentially volatile customer situations
  • Ability to commit to travelling requirements - Upwards of 50% via air, car or train for regular internal or external business meetings and to call on customers to meet defined sales objectives
