Job Overview

This role sits in our Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) Department. It is a role focused on a combination of reporting, co-ordinating, liaising, inspection, policies development and implementation responsibilities on HSSE matters at the corporate level. It is also required to interact and collaborate with fellow HSSE counterparts at the operational levels such as at the oil terminals. The successful incumbent in this role is someone who has relevant years of HSSE working experience (both at the corporate and operational levels) in the oil and gas industry including interacting with government agencies and authorities, familiar with the relevant local HSSE legislations and regulations (in particularly those relating to the oil and gas industry), experience in managing and working with different types of stakeholders, articulate and comfortable in writing reports on regular basis.

The specific responsibilities and requirements for this position are:-

Job Responsibilities

  • Prepare, submit and manage day-to-day reporting on HSSE matters to the HSSE Department Team Leader. This also includes regular and ad-hoc reporting to Headquarters.
  • Co-ordinate, participate and, where required, facilitate the monthly HSSE Work Team meetings, and scheduled HSSE Committee meetings.
  • Liaise with external industry groups on HSSE trends and developments in the oil and gas sector.
  • Conduct inspections at service stations, oil terminals and offices.
  • Co-ordinate and manage the Company’s annual safety months.
  • Liaise with relevant Singapore government agencies and authorities on relevant HSSE related matters, including impacts of HSSE legislations and regulations on our Company’s operations.
  • Undertake ad-hoc duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor or post-graduate degree holder relating to HSSE
  • At least 10 years working experience in HSSE roles in the oil and gas sector, including having experience and know-how in Operational HSE Management
  • Able to develop good working relationships with different stakeholders both internally and externally of the Company. This includes having established good working professional relationships with government agencies and authorities on HSSE matters
  • Possess good communication skills (both written and verbal) and any prior supervisory skills will be helpful
  • Proficient in and comfortable with the Chinese language (both written and verbal). The selected candidate will be required to converse in Chinese with colleagues in and from Headquarters, and will be needed to prepare and submit reports in Chinese to Headquarters.
