Job Responsibilities:

  • Design, detailing, specification preparation and construction oversight for the full range of Mechanical packages for design and build of advanced technology and life science projects
  • Determining and defining sustainability targets;
  • Review of the design of Mechanical systems, produced by other team members, for technical compliance with specified and contracted client/customer requirements;
  • Formulating and driving any necessary recovery plans relating to Design, Cost & Schedule
  • Representing Mechanical Department in monthly HOD Meetings;
  • Performs monthly department meetings and provides a status update on development of projects and business development;
  • Informs and updates on latest technical developments and codes/ standards updates in the industry in regards to Mechanical engineering;
  • Attend monthly HOD Meeting
  • Upload minutes of meeting in Department Knowledge Center
  • Update documents in Knowledge Center Employee Management
  • Mentoring of the Lead Engineers with the intent of securing properly trained personnel to ensure the continual expansion of the company.
  • Establishes and updates individual competency profile for each team member;
  • Creates development and training plan for each direct report;
  • Actively manages performance (goals, action plans and key performance factors);
  • Establishes succession management planning;
  • Promote Graduate program
  • To ensure that all Mechanical team members are fully conversant with their scope of works and the extent of the obligations of Exyte;
  • Ensure staff are trained to regulatory codes (e.g. FDA) local engineering codes, and are kept aware of industry innovation, developments and best practices
  • Drive employee engagement
  • Support all Mechanical staff in learning and advancing their careers;
  • Trains, mentors and develops high performance employees
  • Support tendering and estimating activities of Mechanical works for projects prior to award;
  • Establishes the best integrated and cost effective Mechanical solutions in balance with growth plans;

  • Work with Quantity surveyor during Tendering and Estimating Activities of Mechanical works

Job Requirements:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
  • 10 - 15years professional related experience including 5 years in a leadership capacity
  • At least 10 years of Design and Construction experience in a high-tech industry or other multiple discipline orientated construction business
  • Technical knowledge and understanding of all stages of Engineering Design and Construction for Mechanical systems from, Preliminary Design to Commissioning and Handover
  • Technical knowledge and understanding of project execution processes in a fast track environment
