This organization supports ocean exploration and sharing discoveries through captivating media. Using next-generation technology, science, and storytelling, the organization educates and connects the world with the ocean, building a global community engaged in ocean conservation.

This incredible full-time, hybrid opportunity is based in Singapore. It offers the chance to nurture the next generation of ocean leaders, contribute to a better understanding of the world's oceans, and address some of the most urgent climate challenges we face today.

The Director of Educator and Student Programs will lead programs for both educators and students. This role involves designing, implementing, and evaluating educational programs, including the student programs and residencies aboard the research vessel. The Director is responsible for strategic planning and collaboration with stakeholders to ensure alignment with organizational goals.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategic Planning:

  • Collaborate with leadership to develop long-term strategies for educator and student programs.
  • Integrate program strategies with overall organizational goals.

Program Development and Management:

  • Design and implement educational programs for educators and students, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Oversee curricula and skills training for students, particularly hands-on experiences in science and media.
  • Manage the execution of residencies and fellowships in science, media, and art.
  • Oversee program operations, including scheduling and budgeting.
  • Evaluate program effectiveness and make necessary adjustments.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead a team of program coordinators and support staff.
  • Foster a collaborative and supportive environment.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Build partnerships with governments, educators, and community partners to integrate programs into local environments.
  • Represent the organization at conferences and events.

Resource Development:

  • Work with the partnerships team to identify funding opportunities and prepare grant proposals.
  • Manage program budgets efficiently.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelors or masters degree in education, communications, environmental science, or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in educational program management or nonprofit management.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate vision into actionable plans.
  • Commitment to environmental conservation and education.
  • Willingness to travel internationally and work occasional evenings or weekends.
