Accountability

  • Manage a team of deployment managers across the APAC region serving customers in multiple application areas.
  • Ensure technology deployment team is conducting the new product launch and application program in a way that provides sustainable value for Lubrizol and our customers.
  • Participate in managing the regional development portfolio, budget planning and capability development.
  • Cultivate innovation and develop people by creating a transparent and collaborative work environment that explores value-added ideas from across the entire enterprise.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that safety is foremost in the minds of the team, that we adhere to our ethical standards and the cultural beliefs are manifest in the actions of the leader and the team.
  • Lead region’s deployment team delivering technical solutions for business growth in transportation and industry applications.
  • Deploy people and budget plan to support aligned APAC growth strategy.
  • Ensure compliance and best practice in product deployment and implementation.
  • Provide feedback on new testing and research capabilities needed for APAC market, advocate for high performing solutions in the market.
  • Develop team capabilities and succession plans, enhance local technology capabilities.
  • Global alignment with formulation team, Research, Development team, share knowledge and best practices.
  • Monitor regulations and advocate for market upgrade.

Requirements – Education, Experience, Skills

Education & Professional Background:

  • BSc in Chemistry, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering minimum. Masters or PhD preferred.

Experience & Skills

  • Lubricant or related chemical industry preferred.
  • Experience in leading a team: Ability to effectively manage and guide a group of individuals towards a common goal
  • Strategic thinking: Proficiency in analyzing complex situations, identifying long-term objectives, and developing innovative plans to achieve them
  • Commercial acumen: Strong understanding of business principles and market dynamics, enabling effective decision-making to drive financial success
  • Customer intimacy: Proven capability to build and maintain strong relationships with customers, understanding their needs and delivering tailored solutions to meet them
  • Communication skills: Both written and verbal, are essential for effectively aligning the technology team on its objectives and ensuring successful delivery
  • Develop talent: Good succession planning and ensuring that the team is motivated by stretch goals are critical for meeting the needs of the business
  • Thought leadership: Having a strategic and long-term vision on technology direction is critical to direct future investment in both capabilities and talents
  • Culturally adaptive: Ability to effectively lead Japan and China based tech/test teams
  • Expected travel approximately 20 to 30%.
