As Senior Assistant Manager, Research Office (Research Integrity and Compliance), you will perform various tasks to ensure that the clinical research in NUHS is conducted ethically and in compliance with HealthTech Instructions Manual, Clinical Trial regulations, Human Biomedical Research Act, and related guidelines/ legislations.

Job Responsibilities

  • Execute administrative and operational activities for systems or research data related requests, research data governance, and research declarations.
  • Work with various internal and external stakeholders to ensure that a robust framework is in place for the management of research data.
  • Act as liaison between the investigators and various offices/ regulatory bodies for research data related matters.
  • Perform secretariat duties, including collating and analyzing of information, to facilitate management decisions for Financial and Institutional Conflict of Interest.
  • Perform administrative and secretariat support and participate in ad-hoc projects.
  • Cluster-wide management of non-compliances
  • Daily extraction of non-compliances daily and flag out non-compliances for appropriate triaging and assessment
  • Provision of necessary assessment and recommendation summarized for non-compliance reported submitted to V/ACMB (Research) on a regular basis
  • Provide statistics of non-compliance for necessary reporting
  • Responsible for system accesses and data extraction within NUH for research
  • Develop guidelines for system access and data extraction within NUH for research
  • Work with relevant stakeholders to agree on workflow and guidelines for system accesses and data extraction approval.
  • Implement and review workflows to improve turnaround time for system accesses and data extraction
  • Manage Financial and Institutional Conflict of Interest (F/ICOI) within NUH and coordinating NUHS Cluster F/ICOI
  • Perform summary and recommendation to potential F/ICOI case for review to V/ACMB (Research) and ICOI Review Committee
  • Coordinate NUHS ICOI Committee meeting among committee members and various NUHS stakeholders to facilitate review and discussion
  • Support NUHS/ NUH ICOI Declaration Exercise and facilitate with follow up and mitigation actions
  • Develop research data management education materials and facilitate with research data management related matter
  • Develop data management guide for NUHS Researchers to align with NUHS data-related policies and MOH HealthTech Instruction Manual
  • Review of NUHS data-related policies and MOH HealthTech Instruction Manual to identify key points for adoption to research policies, procedures and guides
  • Facilitate data management related matters and projects (e.g. development of e-consenting platform)
  • Manage the annual research declaration exercise
  • Lead the data preparation for declaration exercise
  • Support the communication efforts and work to simplify the process for the researchers
  • Manage the declaration returns and work with the team on the required follow ups.
  • Support reporting to NUHS higher management on results of declaration exercise
  • Research Data Governance Audit monitoring
  • Ensure NUHS PIs adhere to appropriate standards, policies and procedures for their research studies through monitoring and provide mitigation action plans for their research studies
  • Provide advice to NUHS PIs on their conduct of study


Job Requirements

  • A good bachelor's degree, preferably in Life Sciences or related fields.
  • At least 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in related areas, such as research administration or research.
  • Possess a breadth of knowledge in research data management and its related processes.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work independently and acquire necessary knowledge to perform tasks effectively.
  • Highly meticulous and attentive to details and timeline.
