What The Role Is

As a Research Analyst / Senior Research Analyst in the Research and Evaluation Branch within the Research and Management Information Division, you will be involved in large-scale international benchmarking studies [e.g. the OECD’s Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA); International Association for the Evaluation of Educational Achievement (IEA)’s Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study (TIMSS)] and national research studies and national research studies.

What You Will Be Working On

  • Conduct the large-scale international/ research studies which would include


(i) Conceptualising the frameworks for the studies;

(ii) Developing instruments;

(iii) Formulating and implementing sampling designs;

(iv) Planning and overseeing data collection in schools;

(v) Analysing data to derive insights; and

(vi) Communicating the findings and insights to various internal and external stakeholders to inform policymaking, programme development, and improvement of practice.

  • Support MOE Senior Management in their respective roles as Singapore’s representatives in the various decision-making bodies overseeing the international benchmarking studies


What We Are Looking For

  • Preferably have some background in one of the following areas: Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Computing, Science, Sociology, Psychology
  • Proactive and able to work well independently and in teams
  • Ability to write and communicate well
  • Prior experience in data management, data analytics or educational research/ evaluation would be an advantage.
