The context

In the ambition to strengthen our end to end supply chain all demand planning activities will be centralized in a global Demand Management organization with presence in all regions. As a Demand Manager you are the interface with the regional sales, marketing, business development and the supply chain teams. As a Regional Demand Manager APAC, you report to the Director Global Demand Planning in the US and you work closely with the multidisciplinary regional APAC team.

Your responsibility is to translate sales and business development plans, analyze trends and relevant data into a consensus forecast that will trigger the supply plan. Your goal is to ensure our customers are serviced with the right product available on time and in full.

Key Responsibilities

  • Organize monthly demand review meetings with the Sales, Marketing and Business Development colleagues to gather the latest update on market developments, sales and marketing strategies and predicted sales impact, discuss opportunities to get access to point of sales data and bring advanced analytical information for discussion.
  • Drive discussions and negotiations with the Sales teams to adjust the provided sales forecast based on the information gathered with the goal to deliver a regional consensus forecast for the full horizon (24 months). Continuously seek opportunities to optimize the forecast accuracy for the region.
  • Responsible to provide input and represent the region in the global Consolidated Demand review (supply chain perspective) to support a demand driven S&OP process.
  • Support the customer order prioritization process in times of shortage (allocation) in collaboration with the Sales and supply planning colleagues.
  • Ensure market and commercial priorities are appropriately reflected in the S&OP plans.
  • Liaise with Product Management teams to set-up and execute effective new product launch and phase-in/phase-out processes. Ensure these are reflected timely in the forecast.
  • Develop and present a monthly demand forecast utilizing statistical forecast models, historical sales, customer orders, and sales inputs, assumptions, drivers, and risks
  • Manage forecast models for each item/warehouse combination to achieve the highest statistical output. Apply error analysis techniques to improve forecast accuracy
  • Communicate and help drive improvement on demand related KPIs.
  • Improvement of demand management and sales forecasting processes. Define and drive a program for customer collaboration together with Sales and partner with the Demand Engineer to upskill advanced tools, reports and analysis to the need of the region. Support and enhance the segmentation of the regional portfolio to ensure a relevant predictive approach per bucket.
  • Support the process to develop towards IBP, moving from volume/coverage optimized business model to a fully optimized business model driven by financials.

About you

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business administration, sales management or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a commercial, demand planning, forecasting, or supply chain management role, preferably in multinational corporations or global organizations.
  • Ambitious and eager to develop and learn.
  • Good analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to develop effective collaborations across different levels of the organization.
  • Negotiation and influencing skills as a self-evident trait.
  • Experience working with advanced supply chain planning software and tools (OMP, SAP).
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, with a strong sense of urgency and attention to detail.

  • Certifications like APICS (CSCP, CDPP)
  • Understanding Business to Business Ingredients market and its customers, as well as complex supply chain structures, preferably in the (bio)chemical industry
  • Supply Chain financials
