Job Description

You will lead the Marina portfolio and business development for the Marine business in Singapore. You will be tasked to manage and drive growth for the portfolio; working within established guidelines to ensure that portfolio is underwritten to meet line of business targeted ratios for losses, commissions, as well as expenses. This position reports directly to the Division Head of Property & Casualty. You will work within a team environment at the inter-department and regional level.

Areas Of Responsibility

  • Define and execute the insurance strategies for Chubb Singapore and work with relevant stakeholders to drive local execution.
  • Significant focus on successful roll out of key new business opportunities.
  • P&L Responsibility and Portfolio Management with focus on meeting/exceeding revenue/profit goals.
  • Direct management of major Chubb accounts.
  • Actively managing the monthly financial plans for the Marine portfolio.
  • Lead development of Marine Insurance distribution, including overseeing marketing plans.
  • Product development and innovation, including conceptualizing new product delivery and customer acquisition mechanisms.
  • Manage all Marine insurance distribution channels, not limited to Agents, Brokers, Financial Advisors, Financial Institutions, Direct Agents, and alternative distributors.
  • Responsible for deployment of Marine IT and ensuring efficiency and automation in operations and business processes.
  • Train, coach and develop marine employees to assure required level of expertise, performance, and succession variability.
  • Manage all marine-related service relationships with external and internal service platforms.
  • Deliver cost containment while building reputation for service leadership.
  • Engage key Chubb internal partners and stakeholders to assist in delivery of the strategic vision for marine insurance in Singapore.

Qualifications

Skills Requirements & Experience:

  • Strong knowledge of and extensive existing networks in the Marine Industry.
  • Proven track record in business development, sales and marketing.
  • Minimum of 8 to 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to understand and manage the Marine P&L including annual budgeting and forecasting.
  • Effective communication & interpersonal skills to work effectively with clients, brokers & Chubb personnel.
  • Experience leader with strong people management skills.
  • Demonstrated Analytical skills and ability to evaluate underwriting risks within designated authority
