Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Lead the material planning, logistics, and sourcing team in the development and implementation of ongoing Procurement Strategies and policies, with a primary focus on sourcing initiatives and activities.
  • Drive continuous improvement, best value, and quality improvements within the team and departments by challenging existing practices and actively seeking ways to achieve better sourcing outcomes.
  • Leverage resources across all boundaries to support business goals and address institutional challenges related to sourcing, contractual, and commercial risk management.
  • Report to the Management and respective committees, providing up-to-date status reports on procurement, demonstrating value for money, and ensuring compliance with regulatory procurement requirements, including Anti-Bribery and Corruption and Fraud.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory compliance, Procurement Policies, and external requirements such as OJEU procedures, while implementing strategies to safeguard against contractual and commercial risk.
  • Develop excellent collaborative relationships with key stakeholders, external providers, and other agencies, ensuring strategic and operational needs are understood and incorporated into sourcing initiatives. Implement appropriate sourcing frameworks.
  • Lead and motivate staff, providing appropriate support, training, and development opportunities to achieve their potential in sourcing and procurement.
  • Identify and address sourcing training needs for the group of businesses, including supplier risk management, while establishing and managing future demand and capacity planning.
  • Promote the importance of sourcing and procurement across the group, advocating for best practices through continuous improvement.
  • Act as the principal conduit for formal communications with external companies during the sourcing process.
  • Facilitate the development of relationships with existing and potential suppliers.
  • Work closely with R&D and operations to identify gaps and opportunities, particularly in sourcing for innovation, including materials, sub-contractors, equipment, processes, solutions, and design.
  • Optimize all sourcing procedures to attain maximum efficiency, estimate potential risks, and apply risk-minimizing techniques.
  • Plan and manage the company's supply portfolio and sourcing strategy, negotiating with suppliers to achieve long-term benefits in terms of quality, cost, and delivery.
  • Uphold and observe corporate governance and compliance to promote awareness and transparency in sourcing activities.
  • Undertake any other ad-hoc projects assigned by immediate reporting, particularly those related to sourcing and procurement.

Requirements:

  • University-level degree, usually in Business/Supply Chain or Engineering. Certifications such as those in Six Sigma, Operations, or Inventory Management are a plus.
  • Require 10+ years of supply chain management experience in progressively senior positions, with a strong focus on sourcing. Operations experience is an asset. Background in FMCG/Manufacturing or packaged goods industry. Work experience in a similar position within a manufacturing and FMCG environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage cost performance, supply/demand forecasting, procure contracts, and execute distribution for a broad product range across multiple locations, with a strong emphasis on sourcing activities.
