  1. Make sure the webpage is open.
  2. In the Safari app on your Mac, choose Safari > Preferences, then click Security.
  3. Make sure the Enable JavaScript checkbox is selected.
  4. Click Websites.
  5. On the left, click Content Blockers.
  6. Make sure Off is chosen in the pop-up menu next to the website.
  7. On the left, click Pop-up Windows.
  8. Make sure Allow is chosen in the pop-up menu next to the website.

[What the role is]

This is a 2-year contract position as a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer, Events Management & Business Communications in the School of Business & Accountancy.

[What you will be working on]

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Lead the development of the overall Events and Business Communication curriculum roadmap for the School of Business & Accountancy
  • Contribute to the review of course curriculum for the Diploma in Tourism & Resort Management.
  • Prepare and update teaching materials and conduct lectures, tutorials and workshops.
  • Set and mark assignments, quizzes, common tests, term projects and examinations related to the module(s) assigned (both PET and CET) and keep records of student attendance and grades.
  • Support student learning and development through student consultations, mentoring and overseas trips.
  • Assume committee portfolio and ad-hoc projects that support the school’s mission.


[What we are looking for]

Pre-requisites:
  • At least 8 years’ relevant work experience in the Events industry and be familiar with the latest trends and technologies used in the industry.
  • Track record of leading teams with demonstrated ability in business development.
  • Ability to conduct effective business communications in a professional setting.
  • A nurturing mindset with passion for working with young adults and mature learners.
  • Ability to use innovative teaching strategies to motivate learners.
  • Competent to plan, develop and teach modules in Events Design, Events in Action, Business Communications and other areas including Sustainability and Tourism Marketing.
  • Strong IT skills and proficiency in MS Office applications.
