Business Analyst
We are seeking an experienced Agile Insurance Business Analyst (BA) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in insurance and experience working in Agile environments. You will be responsible for gathering and analyzing business requirements, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring that solutions align with both business objectives and Agile principles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Requirements Gathering: Work closely with stakeholders to gather, document, and prioritize business requirements related to insurance products, processes, and systems.
- Agile Collaboration: Participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and backlog grooming. Work closely with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and development teams to ensure clear communication and alignment on goals.
- User Stories: Translate business requirements into well-defined user stories with clear acceptance criteria. Continuously refine and prioritize the product backlog in collaboration with the Product Owner.
- Process Mapping: Analyze and map current insurance processes, identifying areas for improvement and recommending solutions that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and customer satisfaction.
- Data Analysis: Conduct data analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and potential risks within insurance operations. Use insights to inform business decisions and strategy.
- Solution Design: Collaborate with development teams to design solutions that meet business needs and comply with industry regulations. Ensure that solutions are scalable, secure, and align with Agile best practices.
- Testing and Validation: Support testing efforts by creating test cases, conducting user acceptance testing (UAT), and validating that solutions meet business requirements.
- Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation, including business requirements, process flows, user stories, and functional specifications.
- Stakeholder Communication: Serve as a liaison between business stakeholders and IT teams, ensuring that everyone is aligned on project goals, timelines, and deliverables.
- Continuous Improvement: Advocate for continuous improvement in both business processes and Agile practices. Encourage a culture of feedback and iteration.
Experience/Skill
- Experience: 10+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, with a focus on the insurance industry and Agile methodologies.
- Insurance Knowledge: Strong understanding of insurance products, processes, and regulations. Experience with life, health, property, or casualty insurance is preferred.
- Agile Experience: Proven experience working in Agile environments, with a solid understanding of Agile principles and practices such as Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe.
- Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
- User Story Development: Proficiency in writing clear, concise user stories and acceptance criteria. Experience using Agile tools like JIRA, Confluence, or Azure DevOps.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels.
- Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing requirements and priorities in a fast-paced Agile environment.
