Job Objective

Job Objective
The commercial officer plays a key role in the overall commercial operation. The commerical officer is responsible for assisting towards the smooth operation of the Commercial Department.
Key Accountabilities
- Coordinating visit requests from Suppliers
- Providing administrative assistance to the Commercial Manager
- Participating in undertaking and executing special tasks/projects as requested by the Management
- Maintaining the Department filing systems
- Maintaining a customer complaints log
- Maintain database of contracted Supplier’s details (incl. Supplier Request Form)
- Maintain a database of evaluations received from Members on contracted Suppliers
- Ensuring that all Member and Supplier agreements are filed, archived and available at all times
- Maintain Department Working List with updated information on all Members/Clients/vessels/contracts.
- Responsible for collecting all fleet changes of Members and submit to Commercial Manager for further action.
- Ensuring that the vessels information and fleet lists of Members are kept updated and circulated to relevant parties
- Ensuring distribution lists are up to date and available at all times
- Assist Commercial Manager in preparing all tender documents
- Take and distribute minutes of meetings
- Support statistics and analysis related to contract utilization and supplier performance
- Collect, develop, analyze and report statistical data to Commercial Manager reflecting activity with contracted suppliers.
- Prepare and maintain benchmarking records between suppliers/potential suppliers upon request.
Education and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Supply Chain, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- At least 3 years relevant work experience in a similar role in the maritime industry
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, such as Excel
- Pays careful attention to detail and strong emphasis on accuracy
- Good organizational skills and ability to work within a team
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously to meet goals and deadlines
