Credit Risk Analyst

StriveX is partnering with a Commodities business who is looking for a Credit Risk Analyst to join their Credit Risk team, covering gas and renewables. You will assess the creditworthiness of counterparties, participate in negotiating commercial contracts, and manage credit risk exposures across various counterparties in the energy commodities sector. This role involves close collaboration with Front Office, Legal, and other departments to ensure sound risk management practices.

Role and Responsibilities:

• Assess the creditworthiness of counterparties, assign internal ratings, and establish credit limits.
• Present credit files and proposals to Credit Risk Committees.
• Work with the Front Office to foster counterparty relationships and attend meetings alongside them.
• Negotiate and recommend credit terms, collateral, and payment structures in physical commodity contracts.
• Monitor credit risk indicators, exposures, limits, and utilization across a portfolio of counterparties.
• Respond proactively to Front Office queries about credit exposure and term sheets for potential trades.
• Stay informed of news and credit events that could impact counterparties.
• Contribute to cross-functional projects related to credit risk, and assist the Head of Credit and Chief Risk Officer (CRO) with ad-hoc credit risk initiatives and policy updates.

Key Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of relevant Credit Analysis experience, preferably in Commodities and/or Banking
• Sound working experience in quantitative financial analysis, performing financial spreading based on financial statements
• Ability to produce independent credit review & ratings and justify credit views
• Knowledge on commodities products are plus points
• Knowledge on physical commodity contracts or agreements are plus point
• Ability to perform well under pressure, and prioritise credit requests from business units
• Self starter and ability to work independently in fast paced environment
