As the Vice President/Commercial General Manager (VP/Commercial GM) for the APAC region, you will be a key member of the Commercial management team, driving strategic initiatives across Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, Southeast Asia, Australia/New Zealand, Bangladesh, and India. Your role involves managing commercial growth, expanding operating margins, and enhancing organisational capabilities. With direct P&L responsibility for various functions—such as Commercial, Market Access, Commercial Excellence, FAS, and Business Operations—you will be responsible for crafting and executing customer strategies to drive revenue growth and market share expansion. Leading a sales team of about 50 associates and a cross-functional team of 200 across multiple countries, you will optimize both individual and team performance, with a focus on continuous improvement. The current regional revenue is approximately $300m.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement an APAC strategy to accelerate growth and support the customer-installed base.
  • Identify opportunities for go-to-market improvements, enhance market access, and build local organisational capabilities to fuel revenue growth.
  • Set organisational expectations, fostering growth and improving operational effectiveness through cross-functional collaboration.
  • Lead regional collaboration between commercial and cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment with the APAC and global market strategy.
  • Provide leadership across matrix functions, including Legal, Finance, Quality/Regulatory, Marketing, HR, Operations, and Logistics.
  • Emphasise talent development and succession planning to ensure a strong leadership pipeline for future success.

  • APAC business revenue growth.
  • Effective leadership of Go-to-Market (GTM) initiatives in the region.
  • Sales growth, market share gains, and increased brand awareness.
  • Strong talent retention, development, and engagement within the team.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree with 20+ years of experience OR a Master's/Doctoral degree with 18+ years of experience.
  • Minimum 6+ years of experience in commercial people leadership.
  • In-depth knowledge of key business functions such as marketing, finance, sales operations, e-commerce, customer experience, supply chain, operations, logistics, and legal.
  • Strong ability to influence key stakeholders and present confidently to C-suite executives.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in planning and executing strategic initiatives.
  • Proven track record in leading global transformational change.
  • Exceptional critical thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to translate strategy into actionable business plans.

Highly Preferred:

  • Experience working with inside sales, field sales, global service and support operations, and field service teams.
  • Metrics and results-oriented mindset, with a focus on continuous improvement.

Travel:

50-60% travel is required for this role.
