Job Summary

To ensure effective reporting of Beazley Singapore and Labuan entities into Beazley Group plc.

Key Responsibilities

Support the relevant Service Company Controller in preparing financial reporting and maintaining the Books of Account

  • Bookkeeping, bank entries and monthly journals using ledger system
  • Preparation of bank reconciliations on a monthly basis
  • Preparation of key balance sheet reconciliations on a quarterly basis
  • Review management accounts prior to uploading into group ledger
  • Analytical review of period end insurance receivable and payable balances
  • Day to day monitoring and matching of insurance receipts/payments
  • Identifying and advising of corrective action where appropriate, to include posting journals
  • Assisting in preparation of trial balances and statutory accounts
  • Ensure correct intragroup eliminations are reflected as part of the consolidation
  • Liaise on a regular basis with local offices and third party accountants
  • Responsible for the preparation of balance sheet reconciliations and bank reconciliations
  • Preparation of quarterly GST returns
  • Preparation of annual tax returns for service company and syndicates
  • Assist in the quarterly close processes for Beazley Singapore and Labuan service companies.

To support Group Reporting team during key reporting periods

  • Assist in the reconciliation of intercompany balances and group entities
  • Perform analytical review of P&L and BS for Beazley service companies
  • Prepare annual statutory accounts for Beazley service companies
  • Liaise with external auditors
  • Report on subsidiary companies matters arising of specific relevance to the board
  • Prepare papers for the subsidiaries internal governance groups
  • Liaise with Credit Control, Corporate Finance Team, Claims Team, AP Team, Compliance Team, Auditors and other Finance Teams as appropriate

Pro-actively manage, develop and improve entity reporting and processes to ensure accurate, complete and timely capturing of data

  • Work with several teams in developing best practice within Beazley procedures
  • Help standardise and automate processes through identifying process issues and improvement opportunities
  • Prepare and review necessary procedure documents

Provide Management Reporting And External Liaison

  • Prepare and, if necessary, present periodic management reporting of key issues
  • In particular support the production of financial reporting of entity results to the relevant regulators
  • Support the Service Company Controller and Finance Manager with Ad Hoc requests and projects as necessary
