What The Role Is

You will lead a team that works closely with our statutory boards and across Government to

design and implement policies and strategies to enhance Singapore’s industry ecosystem,

attract new investments, and ensure that the fruits of economic growth benefits all

Singaporeans.

What You Will Be Working On

Specifically, you will lead a team which will:

  • Design and implement policies and strategies to enhance our economic competitiveness and


value proposition to investors

  • Review and develop a suite of incentive products (grants, tax incentives, loans, equity, and


hybrid instruments) that are aligned with Singapore’s economic strategies, generate strong

outcomes and offer taxpayers value-for-money

  • Assess tax incentive applications/amendments that require Ministry approval
  • Review the performance of individual sectors, identify opportunities for restructuring, and


foster the growth of nascent sectors

  • Evaluate business plans comprehensively and critically, including to ensure alignment with


our economic strategies

  • Formulate Singapore’s policy responses to emerging issues such as on economic security and


supply chain resilience

  • Monitor and develop our response to international economic and tax developments, such as


the Base Erosion and Profit Shifting (BEPS 2.0) project

  • Be the custodian for the Economic Expansion Incentives (Relief from Income Tax) Act
  • Work with the Ministry’s Political Office Holders and Senior Management, partners from


across Government (especially the Economic Development Board and Enterprise Singapore),

and industry stakeholders.
