Reporting to the Manager (who in turn reports to Deputy Director/Finance), the responsibilities for this role include:

Job Description

Financial Management

  • Process receipts and perform reconciliation of collections for Power System Operation charges and Inspectorate licence fees;
  • Raise adjustment journals;
  • Monitor accruals and raise reversal entries;
  • Monitor suspense accounts and prepare month-end balance sheet schedules;
  • Support month-end and year-end closing activities (e.g. post receipt accruals and tax allocation etc);
  • Accounts payable tasks - raising requests for creation/update of supplier records, verifying direct e-invoices and foreign supplier e-invoices and inform Department users of unsuccessful interface of e-invoices from New Financial System (NFS@Gov);
  • Support year-end statutory audit activities; and
  • Other adhoc tasks, as assigned


Grant Management

  • Verification of grant claims in accordance with funding guidelines from fund sponsors;
  • Ensure accuracy of claim amounts against relevant supporting documents;
  • Raise payment instructions for disbursements to grantees for approved claims;
  • Prepare submissions to seek reimbursements from fund sponsors;
  • Monitor timely submission of claim forms and audit reports, including sending of reminders; and
  • Support audits and handle other tasks, as assigned.


Requirements:

  • Education in Accounting or Finance with minimum 3 years of working experience in Finance.
  • Strong attention to detail, able to work independently and contribute actively as part of a team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (mandatory) and familiarity with Workday System (preferred)
