Job Purpose: The Quality and Progression Manager supports the Partner Liaison and Operations Director, as well as the Compliance, Quality, and Progression Associate Director, in managing existing business partnerships with international partners. The role involves providing progression and welfare support to partner students as stipulated in the contract and ensuring quality assurance aligns with both the organization’s standards and local regulations.

This position collaborates closely with the Compliance, Quality, and Progression Associate Director, the Academic Manager, and the Operations Manager to ensure the effective operation of the working model. It includes coaching and advising the partner delivery team, supporting progression processes, and overseeing student welfare training and induction. The role also involves managing program quality and monitoring student progression across partner programs and supporting alignment with the quality system.

Key Responsibilities:

Quality Assurance:

  • Leads quality assurance efforts for existing partnerships, collaborating with the Academic Manager and Operations Manager.
  • Ensures the full implementation of the organization’s Quality System.
  • Provides guidance on quality assurance standards and contributes to the ongoing improvement of quality systems.
  • Conducts training for partners on the Quality System.
  • Supports the Partner Liaison and Operations Director and the Compliance, Quality, and Progression Associate Director in meeting contractual obligations.
  • Facilitates a positive student experience and outcomes, supporting periodic audits.

Progression and Student Welfare:

  • Coaches and trains progression and welfare staff at delivery partners.
  • Advises on student university applications and collaborates with the BAU team when requirements change.
  • Manages articulation arrangements with university partners and ensures documentation is up-to-date.
  • Supports partners with at-risk students and oversees safeguarding and compliance with policies.

Partnerships:

  • Builds and maintains effective relationships with partners, addressing inquiries and concerns.
  • Resolves quality and progression issues respectfully and promotes the organization's profile.
  • Establishes strong internal and external relationships and engages varied audiences effectively.

Relationship Management and Communication:

  • Maintains effective relationships with partners, parents, and students.
  • Establishes credibility with colleagues and external stakeholders.
  • Communicates technical information clearly and adjusts style to suit different audiences.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Contributes to a culture of continuous improvement by identifying and implementing operational enhancements.

Organizational Compliance:

  • Adheres to and enforces compliance with organizational policies and relevant laws.
  • Supports compliance reporting, risk management, and both internal and external audits.

Selection Criteria:

Qualifications & Training:

  • Essential: Relevant undergraduate degree in education, business, or a similar field.
  • Essential: Quality Assurance qualification or relevant experience in the education sector.
  • Desirable: Postgraduate qualification in business administration or education.

Experience Required:

  • Experience in managing quality assurance systems and student progression in the education sector.
  • Experience in managing partnership relationships and navigating complex organizations.
  • International education sector experience and familiarity with different regional perspectives.

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Strong cultural competency and understanding of compliance needs in China and other regions.
  • Knowledge of admissions systems, quality assurance frameworks, and processes for managing at-risk students.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with experience in conflict management and relationship building.
