An established regional wholesale bank is seeking an experienced Business Analyst to join their Credit Risk team, working closely with the front office.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in credit risk management and data analysis, with the ability to transform complex data into actionable insights to support risk decision-making processes. As a Business Analyst, you will be responsible for evaluating and improving credit risk strategies, developing reports, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Risk Analysis and Reporting:

  • Analyze credit risk data to identify trends, patterns, and potential risk areas.
  • Develop and maintain regular risk reports and dashboards for senior management.
  • Conduct ad-hoc analysis to support decision-making and strategic planning.

Data Management:

  • Gather, validate, and manage data from various sources to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Collaborate with IT and data teams to enhance data infrastructure and improve reporting tools.

Credit Risk Strategy:

  • Support the development and implementation of credit risk models and strategies.
  • Assess the effectiveness of existing credit risk policies and recommend improvements.
  • Monitor and report on key risk indicators and exposure levels.

Compliance and Documentation:

  • Ensure all credit risk processes adhere to regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Document methodologies, procedures, and controls related to credit risk management.

Stakeholder Communication:

  • Work closely with risk management, credit, and finance teams to understand risk factors and requirements.
  • Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.

Project Management:

  • Lead or participate in projects aimed at enhancing credit risk management practices.
  • Manage project timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder expectations.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field. Advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CFA, FRM) is a plus.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in credit risk analysis within the banking industry.
  • Skills:
  • Knowledge of credit risk management principles and regulatory requirement within a bank.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., SQL, Excel, Tableau, Power BI).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to details
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred:

  • Experience with credit risk modeling and statistical analysis.
  • Familiarity with banking regulations and compliance standards.
