APAC based Senior Infrastructure Engineer

Laravel is looking for the next Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join our, all-remote infrastructure team. For this role we're only considering applications in the APAC timezone. We're on a mission to improve the experience of developers everywhere in the world. To do so, we don't only need to build beautiful software products, we also need to have a solid infrastructure foundation. We always look at products end-to-end when we build something new, and love to keep our users front and center regardless of which part of the product we're building, so we are not only looking for a person who knows how to work with cloud providers and infrastructure, but someone who is able to have empathy for our users and wants to build the best possible products possible.

For this role, we are specifically looking for someone to join the Infrastructure team, working on our yet-to-be-announced Laravel product, which is being developed by our APAC-based team.

• Work together with a world class team, touching the developer experience of hundreds of thousands of developers around the world

• Enjoy programming(!). Even though we're often working with cloud providers such as AWS, we also sometimes need to build custom tooling and integrations and we enjoy doing that ourselves

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience from similar roles, preferably working closely with large scale production systems
• Mastery of AWS and potentially other cloud providers
• Preferably, you have worked in large AWS environments, dealing with customer data in multi-account setups spread across multiple regions
• Mastery of Kubernetes (K8s) and container orchestration as a whole
• Preferably, you have experience working with large clusters with customer data
• Deep knowledge of Apache Kafka, a big plus for specific knowledge of AWS MSK
• Experienced and opinionated about logging, monitoring, alerting tooling, and processes
• Experienced and comfortable with using IaC in a team, enforcing sanity checks and policies to help us scale
• Knowledgeable of network protocols, load balancing, caching, and DNS management
• Knowledge of operating databases, caches and storage in a containerized environment is a big plus
• Knowledge of OLAP databases such as Clickhouse is a plus
• Being comfortable in a fast paced, evolving and all-remote environment
