Graduate Data Center Engineer, (2024 intake)
As a Data Center Trainee, you will undergo a comprehensive training program to develop the necessary skills and knowledge required to support the operations and maintenance of a data center. You will receive hands-on training and guidance from experienced professionals in the field, enabling you to become proficient in managing data center infrastructure, equipment, and systems.
Job Responsibilities
- Assist the Data Centre manager in planning and management of DC floor space, Equipment Racks, Cables, Power, Cooling and other DC related facilities and services.
- Support and Operations oversight of Offshore PoPs.
- The on-boarding and support of our Colocation customers and key telecommunications partners.
- Producing weekly and monthly performance, capacity and status reports.
- Ensure DC’s related Service Level Agreements (SLA) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are being duly monitored and measured
- Ensure DCs reports are generated and reviewed as per scheduled and action items being follow up in a timely and agreed manner.
- Point of contact for Data Centre incidents and problems.
- Ensure the documentations are up to date.
- Ensure all changes are approved and executed in a planned and orderly manner.
- Assist Data Centre Manager in DC capacity management. The scope includes monitoring of DC capacities, plan and execute DC upgrades and annual capacity management budgeting exercise.
- Ensure DC facilities and operations practices are in compliance with Regulatory requirements, corporate standards and Industrial best practices.
- As a member of DC Incident Recovery Team (IRT), to participate in incident troubleshooting, recovery and root cause analysis of Data Centre related incidents.
- Manage DC related enhancement projects
- Assist DC manager with audit and compliance reporting, and ensuring the integrity of Client's backup infrastructure
- Lead DC site visits for client's co-location customers as required
Educations Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum Diploma in Information technology/computer science/engineering/network infrastructure or relevant technical area of study
- Relevant internship and/or academic project experience in related to data center would be an advantage
- Passion for IT Digital infrastructure in the emerging platforms or domains
- Track record of outstanding academic performance and co-curricular activities
- Willingness to learn and an interest in information technology services
- Strong analytical skills and problem-solving skills
- Flexibility and willingness to work on different projects if required
