Manager – Digital Trust & Government Relations

SGTech is on a transformation journey which has seen it add new functions and depth to its organisation. As part of this growth, the role of Digital Trust & Government Relations was set up to centrally strategise and coordinate SGTech’s Digital Trust initiatives and manage stakeholder management with the public sector.

As a Digital Trust & Government Relations Manager you will:

1. Support Government Engagements

  • Provide policy inputs, written works, and positions to assist in advocacy efforts. The objective will be to grow our partnerships into healthy collaborations that serve our mission and extract good value for SGTech’s members.
  • Develop strategic engagement plans to persuade Government stakeholders on industry interests and guide other teams in SGTech on how best to navigate policy issues and bureaucracy to meet our desired outcomes.
  • Maintain a healthy network of partners across Government and industry to assist team members to drive projects and/or outcomes. This includes organising engagement activities such as small-group meetings and meals with political office holders.
  • Write frequently either for position papers, speeches, releases, or briefs etc. You should possess a good flair for writing, being structured and being persuasive.
  • Oversee & support SGTech’s transformation projects being run by various teams to ensure that projects are on schedule, well-tracked and documented and continue to meet deliverables
  • Provide staffing support for strategic committees on issues such as digital trust, government procurement and digital transformation.

2. Manage Digital Trust Projects

Support digital trust projects by coordinating and managing initiatives aimed at enhancing digital trust within the industry. This includes:

  • Organising and facilitating the Digital Trust events, ensuring the participation of 350 companies, including 200 unique local companies per year.
  • Leading and managing 2 policy research projects focused on digital trust.
  • Overseeing the completion of 2 pilot programmes aimed at promoting digital trust solutions per year.
  • Ensuring the adoption of digital trust solutions by at least 10 companies through pilot programmes, with a tracking indicator for 5 local companies adopting these solutions per year.
  • Work closely with PR and Marcomms teams to strategise and develop content to engage and achieve the goals of SGTech’s Digital Trust Centre of Excellence Advisory, comprising of global C-suite level representatives from global companies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Augment and communicate SGTech’s advocacy and/or feedback industry’s positions on relevant policies;
  • Lead and support digital trust projects, ensuring the achievement of key performance indicators related to company participation, policy research, pilot programmes, and solution adoption;
  • Provide staffing support for key committees;
  • Support the development and execution of engagement plans for strategic stakeholders;
  • Work across teams to coordinate engagements to ensure alignment with SGTech’s overarching partnership strategy;
  • Work closely with relevant teams to engage partners in dialogue, pitches, and negotiations to further our interests;
  • Stay updated on relevant government policies, programmes and direction and advice leadership accordingly;
  • Undertake written works to further advocacy efforts;
  • Serve as key manager to oversee and project manage SGTech’s transformation projects. Engaged with relevant teams to ensure projects are aligned to plans, help overcome roadblocks and assist where necessary;
  • Manage project documentations and deliverables for management reporting.

Qualifications and Skill Required

  • 3 - 5 years of relevant experience in one or more of the following fields:
  1. Government Ministry/Statutory Board;
  2. Government affairs roles;
  3. Partnership/Stakeholder management roles;
  4. Trade Association and Chambers
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and confidence in engaging senior management and officers at all levels
  • Excellent analytical and good writing skills
  • Understand technology and take a keen interest in its development
  • Strong communication skills, including presentation, storytelling, negotiation and persuasion
  • Excellent time management and organisational skill
  • Self-disciplined and can work independently
  • Collaborative mindset
  • Entrepreneurial drive and a desire to build initiatives that deliver impact
